Just rented an

Eclipse for the weekend. We are driving down to NY. It was the last car they had! Not sure if it is the 4 or 6 engine. But it is a two door coupe, so that should be fun to switch it up a bit. Anyone ever drive one of these?

I am pretty sure that they have a 4 and a 6 available. The latter putting out like 250 horse or something. But I dont know anything about Mitsubitis, nor have ever driven one, so we will see how it goes!

But if it was between that or a honda civic, or corolla, I would take the Eclipse any day. I asked about a Stang, Vette and the Corssfire convertable, but he is like, we dont have them. So I asked what other cars he had, and he said the premium car was the Eclipse at $400 for three days, and I said are you crazy? And negotiated 50 per day or $150 for the whole deal with the Eclipse. (Dont want to rack up excess miles on the Bimmer lease, and GF car is out of commish.)

This car was reliable and efficient! no issues. (It was the 4 banger) Drove from Boston to Long Island on one tank of gas. Just had to fill it up before I returned it. Blind spots are a KILLER in this car. No doubt I was happy to be back in my car. The best surprise was the 100 channels of XM radio for free!

Yay for 100 channels of commercial free music that somehow all manage to have shitty music on. (Unless it's gotten better since I canceled my sub a few years ago)

Sounds about right, We recently dropped the XM subscription on the Wife's Pathfinder... Nothing but garbage.

Unless of course you want a religious or sports station, but if you want music? You're screwed.

Avis in Natick. They were the best price, and I actually negotiated the price down a bit. Good customer service. Only thing was the car was dirty as SH when I picked it up

XM for free? Nice. I just remember a new red eclipse trying to race me 3 times in a one week span when we kept seeing each other all over the city last year.

In other news, I looked at the eclipse for a few minutes and decided to see what people were doing with them. Apparently, there's a supercharger kit out pushing up to 400whp!? For $5k no less! Granted it's FWD, but I want 400whp

The eclipse is a tank in terms of handling. My '06 Civ EX coupe felt much lighter, but was damp on power. Woulda gone with the Eclipse anyways.

I rented a Hyundai Sonata for three weeks earlier in the month. Getting that thing to accelerate was like flying a jet. Before it would move the engine had to wind itself up. So I nearly had to schedule all of my lane changes down the interstate: if I needed to change lanes I had to remember to hit the accelerator a tenth of a mile before moving.

As for the XM radio, it's a load of crap. The station I had it on played the same thirty songs over and over. So, I changed to another station; I got one with the same songs over and over AND the same commercials over and over. When I drove under trees or highway bridges it would cut out and then come back on 200 yards down the road.
