Depends on the laptop. The new MB Air has soldered memory, but many Dells merely have a door that is easy to remove with a screwdriver to access the memory ports. Pop them in and turn on the computer. You may get a CMOS alert telling you the memory has changed, but you can usually hit F1 or something to continue the boot process.

Do you have a manual? You have an internet connection, so try going to the ASUS website for electronic documentation.

well i opened the laptop today and found i can store max 3 gigs of ram ddr2 667.

the my graphic card is intergrated to the mobo. so if i want to upgrade video card, i would need to get a new mobo with the video card i want, and transfer cpu, etc everything over.

of course it wouldn't be worth it imo so should i sell and buy a different. DAMNIT!!!

Why do you 'need' the laptop. If you aren't doing anything more than school work, keep it. If you want to run better games, it would be cheaper to get a desktop.
