Heat vs Pacers in the ECF....

Rockets don't play until Thursday, but they have two pretty tough back to back road games...

Thursday against Portland and Friday against the Warriors.....
Portland is hot, I don't see Houston beating them, but I think Houston has a good shot at beating the Warriors. Golden State has been way more inconsistent this season. Shooting has been streaky, and defensively very porous. C'mon they let Sacramento score 115 on them. The freaking Kings.

all that said i would have liked miami to win
The Pacers are a very different team this year with Paul George emerging as a superstar. They also have an entirely revamped bench (Luis Scola, C.J. Watson, Copeland, Solomon Hill, etc.).

And Danny Grander returns on Friday. That will be a former All-Star and former starter coming off the bench for the rest of the season. He's capable of 20+ points off the bench once he knocks the rust off.

Granger's returns means another premier defender on the floor for the Pacers this post-season. I like Indiana's chances more than ever.

Until the Pacers win the ECF though, the Heat remain the champs undoubtedly in my mind.

Good defense tends to force those sorts of problems.

I would say they missed some contested shots in the final minutes, too.

The Pacers have always given the Heat problem because of Hibbert. He is too big for Chris Bosh to guard. That is why the Heat got Oden. But they won't be using Oden until the playoffs, particularly against the Pacers.

NY,NJ, Chicago is a joke. Remember when all their fans kept saying how they would be championship contenders before the season even started. They can't even get a positive record FFS..

Great. Steve Blake out 6 weeks with torn ligament in his elbow.

Now, with Farmar, Nash, and Blake out, Lakers don't have a point guard.

Luckily, Bryant can take that role nicely, as well as Xavier and Jodie.

This season is really shaping out to be like last season, with all the injuries.

Anyway, Houston and Portland should be a good game tonight! Arguably the two best offenses in the league.

I got Portland in this one, mostly due to home court advantage.

D'Antoni's coaching style simply grinds players down. I still don't understand why they brought this guy on after negotiations with Phil fell through. They are literally nothing alike.

Tell me about it.

D'Antoni's style did not fit the Lakers offense last year, and still not quite this year.

Why would you force your players to accept a system that isn't suited for their strengths?

Ugh, so frustrating. There were other, better fit coaches available...but bring in D'Antoni just for Nash? Come on now...

Take a shot every 10-12 seconds, fast break ball, is for young, quick, athletic guys. The Lakers haven't been that type of team since Smush was on the squad, and even that is debatable. D'Antoni is a horrible fit for the Lakers.

We should have kept Mike Brown and forced him to stay with the triangle. If this season ends up with the LakeShow out of the playoffs, or in a 1st round elimination, I hope they ship D'Antoni out.

X2.

If D'Antoni were to base his fast-paced offense from a clear and concise defensive minded approach, we would not only see an offensive powerhouse with a healthy Kobe and Nash, but a legitimate playoff contender in the Lakers.

But, D'Antoni has a very holistic defensive approach, which is why he hasn't ever, and never will, make it to the Championship.

Maybe I'm just a little old school, but I believe effective defense leads to effective offense. Offense might be off every now and then, but defense should be constant in EVERY single game.

Without a good foundation (defense) there is no way in hell you can consistently win games...

fucking Rockets.....

defense is going to be an issue.....

if they ain't dumping 15-17 3 pointers on you, their Iso-Harden playbook is not going to be very effective....

Good game last night (better than the Clippers effort against the Nets), but Harden is the biggest asset and biggest curse Houston has.

I don't understand why Kevin McHale continues to use Harden as a two-in-one back court. Beverly, Lin, and Brooks are simply role players to compliment a Harden lead offense. A true PG needs to lead the offense in Houston.

naaaah.....

Lakers put on another embarrassing performance tonight...

the last 7 minutes of the 4th quarter was hurtful - watching 2nd team and 3rd team players turn the ball over and miss open shots...I almost couldn't watch it...

and my boy Patrick Beverly put it down on Curry and Thompson tonight...

Curry and Thompson combined for 41 shots and they only hit 13 of them HAHA !!!!

...and with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter, Beverly scored 9 points, burning Curry on multiple occasions....

Harden's two monster mash dunks were incredible to watch !!!!!

don't hurt'em like that Bearded One !!!!!

Wow. Lob City just dismantled the Spurs. Like literally made them look like D-League.
