HD Recorders....anybody know of them or use them?
Went to Best Buy and so forth and can't find any.
What I'm looking for is an HD Recorder that allows me to record HD programming from cable TV to a disk (DVD). They used to make a TiVo that had a DVD-R built in so you could record the show to the TiVo's hard-drive and then just burn it to a DVD that you placed in the recorder. Apparently they don't make that anymore. So again, is there a machine out there that allows us to record in HD to a DVD either directly from the cable box (via HDMI cable) or from a HD DVR box to DVD. |

You cant burn HD content to a regular DVD. Either HD-DVD (which is dead) or a Blueray disk (which is expensive). I don't know if they have a product on the market that can do what you want since the blueray burners are really expensive and HD DVD is not in production anymore.

If you record HD onto a dvd you will only have enough space for maybe an hour and a half of content. your better off buying one of those 1 TB hard drives and recording everything directly on to it.

i only know of SD ones, sorry ive used Dazzle products in the past. Dazzle takes camcorder or other SD outputs and transfers them straight to DVD or to your computer for editing. i know a forum which may help, ill look around if i find any HD -> DVD devices

I found this, but don't know if it's available here in the US:
http://www.slipperybrick.com/2008/03...ray-recorders/ and then there is this one below but it's expensive and I don't know how much blank blu-ray discs costs? Plus it mentions it's available in Japan Feb. 20th. Again, don't know if it's available here in the US http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/14/s...-and-counting/ |
