New Lexus IS F looks pretty interesting

I just saw the web site for the new Lexus IS F and it looks pretty hot. 5 liter V8 gives 416 hp with a top speed of 170, two stage intake, a special oil pump for extended high G cornering, 19 inch BBS wheels, 8 speed transmission, 14 speaker 7.1 channel audio($3990 option) and base price $56,000. I am not sure if i like the style, but the technology looks impressive.

http://www.lexus.com/isf/index.html?=intro

I wonder what version of Progman it comes with.

a lot of people just hate on it for the exhaust tips. IMO dumbass reason to not like a car (ideally they are just haters). those could easily be changed out anyway. I truly respect this car and praise lexus for building a sweet performance car that can keep up with the M3. The auto is supposedly better than AMGs autos. and you know AMG are good at making autos.

just like the GT-R.....the IS-F looks 7.5 times better in person than picture.......

my lexus dealer told me that the innovative exhausts were for downward force to keep the car from flying off the road when the V8 kicked in.........and a manual transmission could not handle the force of the 5.0L engine; therefore, an automatic gearbox was the only option.

i lost all respect for his knowledge when he said, "you wanna trade in your M3?"

WTF ---- I have a 330i!

imo the stacked exhaust tip design is pretty cool

and I've sat in an IS-F

the interior isn't much different from a normal IS

except for the steering wheel, gauges, seats, and white carbon fibre trim

Maybe since he thought it was an M3 he might have been dumb enough to give you the money for an M3.

If the exhaust tips are fake then where does it come out?

I highly doubt that those tips are fake. Also, I think car salesman have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. You need to educate them once in a while

They are fake. They connect to the bumper rather then the actual exhaust.

that's the same with the LS460......the exhaust tip is like an inch or so inside the bumper....

Nice car, I drove one at the Lexus Driving Event. But for best bang for your money...I really liked the IS350 with the IS accessories.

I've seen several on the streets, but they don't turn my head that much though. Not like a nice AMG or M.

Not only do the exhaust tips look like ass to me, so does the dolphin-esque hood bulge, the grossly protruding front bumper (with no flow, mind you), the poorly executed fender vents, and the cheesy silver carbon fiber trim.

A good performing car? Yes.
A good looking one? Well, I'll leave that up to one's own opinion. Imo, it's so fugly that no amount of performance could make it enticing to me.

They're not copying. Those designs are made well in advance.

+1. IS-F looks like a poorly thought out mod project of a pimply teenager. They basically just tack on whatever body panels they could to try to differentiate from the regular IS.

who cares...... the porsche turbo has the same non functional tips. I think the styling is very aggressive. Have you even sat in one........the interior was awesome. It was still very lexus but sporty at the same time. Seats were highly bolstered too.

Get out of your M3 hole once in a while. There other cars out there.
