Today, BMW launched their 2014 DTM Motorsport event inside the BMW Welt, in a spectacular fashion! BMW Motorsport and the factory employees at the BMW AG plant in Munich (DE) , as well as the many fans (watching) in (and outside) the BMW Welt , the program for the DTM 2014 season kicked off!

Just over a week before the first DTM race will be held at Hockenheim (DE ) BMW Motorsport, presented an awesome event, all eight DTM BMW M4 race car's and their driver's were presented to the public at the Welt today. In addition, BMW Motorsport brought a BMW Z4 GT3 and a new BMW M235i Racing for all the factory employees and ///M fans to see Live!

The Highlight of the day was undoubtedly the driving action, the BMW drivers put on for audiences outside the Welt. Martin Tomczyk (DE) turned to the cheers of fans doing many burnouts in the BMW M4 DTM in the parking lot of the Welt.

Dirk Werner (DE) demonstrated the power of the BMW Z4 GT3 , Andy Priaulx (GB) and BMW Junior Alexander Mies (DE) gave the BMW M235i Racing some gas too - showing off some smoky burnouts too.

"It's great to see that so many fans have found their way to our BMW Motorsport Launch 2014 today at the Welt," says BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt . " Even at our premiere last year, the tremendous response from the public has greeted us enthusiastically. This year I had the impression that were even more fans than in the previous year. This makes us very happy because the fans are an essential part of our motorsports activities . "

The program began today in the morning at the BMW AG plant (factory) where thousands of employees had the pleasure to experience the BMW race cars and their drivers up close and personal. On the premises of the Munich factory (across the street from the Welt) the BMW M4 DTM , the BMW Z4 GT3, BMW M235i Racing and the BMW M4 Coupe DTM Safety Car turned their first laps of the day on the factory grounds.


"It was important for us to offer our employees at the BMW plant a very special show and to transform the site into a quasi race track," says Marquardt . "With their daily work, they lay the foundation for all BMW Motorsport activities. This is especially true for the BMW M4 DTM , since after all this is where the M4 production cars will be built at the headquarters in Munich. One can hold , therefore, that the Motorsports is a real BMW community project. "


This was followed by BMW factory manager Hermann Bohrer : " As members of the BMW family to pursue our employees the services of our race vehicles on the routes all over the world , and of course, with great interest. It makes us all proud when the racing versions of these vehicles that we have built to celebrate, in motor sport successes. Because that is ultimately also a confirmation of our good groundwork. Therefore, we want all of our drivers and teams all the best for the exciting coming months . "

From the BMW plant the show went for BMW race cars and drivers on public roads across the street to the BMW Welt - where the many fans were waiting eagerly awaiting the DTM race cars and drivers. After another spectacular show outside the BMW Welt, began at the premiere area inside the (main) show , the highlight was the presentation of the eight M4 BMW DTM and their drivers . Following all the drivers were fans eagerly awiating for autographs and photos - set up in a special area of the Welt.


"To be so close to the fans , for me as a racer is always a very special highlight," says Martin Tomczyk . "You can still offer this great show with the BMW M4 DTM in action (burnouts and engine revving) and see the shine in their eyes , makes my anticipation go through the roof with the start of the coming race season. "

For BMW newbie António Félix da Costa (Portuguese) , it was the first public presentation at the BMW Welt for me - and I was thrilled by the atmosphere . "That was the first time that I have experienced this first hand - how many fans BMW Motorsports and the DTM has ," says the Portuguese. " Such euphoria for the vehicles and the drivers is a great motivation to give DTM race series start next weekend on the track (Hockenheim) everything for the success of BMW Motorsport. "


BMW also had a Live stream on the web. It took a long time (ten minutes or so) for this file to load... but it was pretty cool to watch the prince of Bayern and the DTM driver's talking about their Love for BMW's. Sorry its all in German, but its still interesting(I think).

Thank you Dackelone for posting the stuff. I've never been to a motorsport event and therefor i was pretty impressed by the sound of the M4 DTM. I could watch the burnout/donut video all day long.
