it's all a gimmick to target people that are attracted by buzz words like organic. they can charge whatever they want because the people will still pay. the apple effect. at the end of the day, it's still a business that wants to make as much money as it possibly can.

if you want real organic, find a local farmer's market and become familiar with the good vendors. you'll find quality products and you'll probably save some cash in the process.

what he said. They only truly organic you'll find is at local farmers markets, not at all whole paycheck. I personally work with many organic farmers around the bay area, much better deals and MUCH better quality foods than whole paycheck

Haha, my girlfriend loves wholefoods. And makes me spend at least $100 a week there. Since she is all about being organic and healthy. Made me laugh.

People are retarded and only care about the "organic" buzz word so they can pretend to be smart in front of their friends. A lot of the FRESH produce and meat / poultry in Whole Foods are grown domestically and are USDA organic. However, most of their frozen shit are not.

My biggest issue with Whole foods is that the stuff is not necessarily fresh and its overpriced.

I think it has to do with the fact the stuff is 1.5-3 times higher priced than the local Shop rite grocery store. Less shoppers mean fewer times the inventory is being cycled.

We bought fish at whole foods and my wife got sick after eating it. The shop rite grocery store has a lot more invntory turns, so I think the stuff is fresher.

Also bothered by the fact that I can spend $80 on an entire shopping cart at Shop Rite or $80 on 1 shopping bag of stuff at Wholefoods.

We like going to Whole foods or even better - Trader Joe's if we're in the mood for buying some specialty food or prepared food... Otherwise - I'll stick with the Costco and Shop rite produce/meats
