wait, wtf is going on.

0-60: 4.6s
1/4: 12.8s @ 109
60-0: 108ft
slalom: 67mph
skidpad: 0.92g

all these numbers meet and/or exceed an e92 335i's. considering the skidpad figures, it's gotta be roling on barrels made of glue to generate those numbers. the gearing must be ridiculously short too.

i'm assuming you've never driven a cayenne turbo? we used to race our E46 M3 and cayenne turbo (this was when the cayenne was new.... E92 M3 would be a different story) and the E46 M3 would get whooped. stock for stock of course

never have, but it's really this new gen that weighs ~400lbs less that's surprising.

Its also over twice the price of a lowly 3 series

THe Cayenne Turbo has all sorts of technology that the 3 doesn't...including a suspension which can adapt to cornering stresses ...porsche torque vectoring on its AWD system

That PDCC thing or whatever is especially impressive...it basically keeps a porsche (911, panamera, cayenne...2S, they all have it...options on some) flat through corners by altering the stiffness of the suspension during cornering.

The 3 series has a standard coil suspension Which is probably better for value and the fact that its easier to service than an air suspension.

The engine is a 500 HP and OVER 500 lb foot torque twin turbo V-8 used in the Panamera Turbo. Its a monster. It also uses direct injection.

Impressive that beast can stop in that short of distance being an SUV!

The technology and price point is a given. The concept of a four door SUV that's carrying an extra 500lbs is faster than a two door coupe is still astonishing. PDCC isn't new, it's just another form of active-roll-stabilization, but it's still extremely effective for cars with large footprints and excessive weight.

Case in point: here's a 750i optioned without ARS vs an S550 with ARS. The 750i looks like a whale bouncing all over the place.

A standard coil suspension can be a perfectly adequate compromise. You'll find adjustable air/magnetic suspensions in higher end cars to provide different levels of ride comfort.

The Panamera T is quicker but at 25K less I would go for the Cayenne T if wanting a P as a multi passenger fit.
It is no joke.

A guy here in Dallas took this to paint and got the black arch trim painted white. It looks very nice.

Definitely,

another problem with the air suspension is its tendency to go wrong over time. Its a very expensive fix. Still impressive what it can do.

Ive had a good amount of time driving it now and it easily outperforms even most sports/sporty cars. It handles so well thanks to the active suspension, tq vectoring, etc and straight line speed is insane. You can def feel the weight difference from the prev CTT to this one.
The quality is second to none as well.
And to think there is the Cayenne Turbo S coming!
damn, u pulled the trigger on the m3?

this gen cayenne is hot.

^ I don't think so since they now offer the Powerkit for the PTT through the factory Individualization Programme. Bigger turbos etc. 540hp.

Nah, they'll make a Turbo S...Porsche/VW group knows how to milk the brand.

Eventually it looks like Porsche brand will get devalued with a cheap Cayenne (the Cajun) and a cheaper boxster coming out.

Panamera is good if you get the V6 or V8...the TT is too expensive, and not much more status.

Its like the people who buy the 323 BMW here....chicks can't tell the diff between a 335 and 323!
