Will Tiger Woods retire?

He has been anything but competitive since his latest comeback. And now he re-injured his surgically repaired back. I think he may be pondering retirement at this point.

Doubt it. He will be back playing at the PGA Championship, I'm sure of it.

if he comes and plays next week he is faking it IMO. lol

I think he is way to technical with his swing and when he is playing he is so set on mechanics he can't swing the club. He has gone from the most mentally strong golfer to one of the weakest, just my 2 cents.

I hope he doesn't retire, doubt he will. He wants Jacks record and he won't quit till he gets it and sadly I think that day will never come

Yup, he's lost his "Tao" and all his adjustments and micro managing is killing his body..
he needs to clear whatever mental debris he has and play from his core and stop trying to 'fix' it

I completely agree, the man has so many things in his heads it's amazing that he can even make contact with the ball. I have always been a huge Tiger fan, if he wasn't playing golf when I was younger I'm not sure id be playing golf.

With that said, yesterday was an embarrassment. I don't know if the back was hurting him all that much from the 2nd hole on but it sure didn't look like it until he hit his last drive.

If he is truly hurt and not just butt hurt that things weren't going his was, he won't be back this year. On a side note, Rory's last two performances were mighty impressive! Rory absolutely murders the ball, I need to figure out how to do that.

Sad to say, watching him play, you can almost anticipate his cursing and backhanding the grass - "Goddamit Tiger!"
Actually I haven't watch him play in years - does he still do that?

He always lying about whether he is hurt or not so that's impossible to answer. I watched him today....he had a tremendous gallery following him around to play a poor round of golf. He looked like he hated every minute of it.
Guess he'll never come clean on how messed up his back is so he doesn't lose the all important sponsors..?

He needs to go back to having all his mistresses like before, he's too stressed on everything. He needs to just let loose and try and become his old self again.

As far as his back injury goes, I personally wake up with back pain 2-3 days a week to wear I can't even tie my shoes because I can't reach down without pain and docs can't find anything wrong (I'm only 27). I can't doubt his back pain because I do know 1 day ill be fine, next day I'm in pain and following day I'm fine. The back is an interesting machine.

Don't see why he needs to retire. Money will never be an issue but this is the best way for him to stay relevant in the golf world, much like Jordan for basketball. For golf, he can play till he's 60. Choose his courses, tournaments, and just go out and put on a show.

Most importantly is his drive to be the best of the best. He's gonna beat Jack's record and he's gonna die trying.

Karma is a bitch. Have a beautiful wife and family, be the best golfer in world but throw it all away sleeping with women. I have no issues with being a man whore. But once you have a wife and kids that is your number one priority. He's gotten what he deserves.

So what your saying is that he now deserves his freedom to fuck any ho he chooses, piles and piles of cash, same amount of (god like) fame, and maybe just maybe still be competitive in the PGA? I'd like some of that bad karma too.

No one even on tour will doubt his game. He can snap back anytime and own the tour. Don't forget he's still 10th in the world rankings and was 1st at the end of 2013.

Don't start talking like this guy just screwed up his game like Paul George.

TW needs to go back to throwing his baby arm into every ham wallet he sees...that's how he wins...by dominating the ham.

Not a big Tiger Woods fan. He might play golf till he's 60 but it won't be on the PGA Tour. He'll be long past his prime.
If you'd have asked me 6 years ago if he would beat Jack's record I'd have said yes. Today, I don't think so. He's lost his mojo. His putting is average at best and will only get worse the older he gets (it happens to ALL golfers). Between his beatup body, average putting and now the likes of people like McIlroy to compete against, he doesn't stand a chance of catching Nicklaus' 18...we'll see

He can still play the Champions Tour and regular event PGA tours if he chooses till he dies, which is still considered "playing on tour."

He can but he won't (in my opinion). Like I said, I'm not a Tiger Woods fan. But, I'll tell you one thing, he has way too much pride for that. That guy can't stand playing poorly. So, I don't see him on the Champions Tour.
The game needs him so I'd like to see him play well again....just not win 4 more majors (he-he)

I suspect where his game is now compared to his prime he is NOT enjoying his career.

that 82 tho! yikes

its still brand new swing, first time under real pressure. his tourney didn't really count. He has next week also. He is rusty also when you attempt swing changes they take time. Your body reacts totally different under even the smallest pressure. I think he will still be competitive come Masters time. Everyone has bad rounds. Remember pros shooting in the 80s happens every week, TV just shows the leaders.
