Sorry to highjack the thread but speaking of confusing movies, you should watch Memento!

Syriana was okay. Wasn't really confusing as people make it out to be...it's pretty straighforward.

I didnt understand the plot or the point I guess. Its just one of those pulp fiction type ones where they keep on changing the scene. I need to pay more attention to the movie next time I watch it

yeah i guess I could see why you might not understand it. i mean to really understand it you have to know a little bit about history & US politics. i'm not a pro on either but I guess it shows how US policy tries to install favorable foreign leaders. in syriana's case they assasinate that one brother (its been a while so i dont remember who is who) in order for the younger pro-US brother to lead the country. the older brother wanted to become independent from the US oil companies & interests (taking control of your own natural resources)... etc... and build infrastructure & stability. matt damon plays as his advisor... telling him that instead of takin the US's BS he should invest in his own country... and blah blah...

the terrorist part is probably just another reference to like how people live in those areas... if your poor & jobless, then your more willing to do more drastic things to feed your family.. ie become a terrorist and blow up some shitt... like that one dood that got fired from his job...

i dont remember alot of the movie... but i remember those points... n' really its just talking about how we were in the past & still are today... in terms of politics...

Good movie. Not excellent, but good. I give props to the director for having a movie with so many interwoven stories, and its ability to mesh rather well. From the beginning, i started to worry that it wouldn't mesh well, but by the end, it did. Most movies with interwoven stories fail really badly, this didn't. It didn't move me, but it did help shed some perspective on the Oil world and its relations with our government.
