NIce steak house or italian, relaxing mood, you don't have to spend $500 on a meal, tossing out mad cash and big talk reminds me of Trump, which is a

My choice for a first date meal is a French Restaurant, Le Popeye's. Wait a minute ladies, I hear the boos! If she can deal with fast food, then she is a good candidate, (Can-I-Date). You did not start school in the 12th grade. You have to graduate to the Caviar.
I prefer to cook, I would keep it simple on the first date with steak, salad, and a nice wine!

None of the above. A meal at a good non-chain restaurant.
Then again, I am an old married guy.

Aw man... First dates are overrated! Just hang out, get some drinks (if you're over 21), get a "feel" for the vibe between you and her.
Be out in public that way it's chill and relaxed. Do some people watching, walk around, show that you're energetic, take a scenic drive; destination unknown, have a picnic ready in your trunk and drop off at a park or beach... There's something to be said about planning but at the end she'll be more impressed (as will you) by showing spontaneity. EDIT: She's getting to know you; not the food bro. Goodluck!

Non chain restaraunt, family owned place is a plus (usually a nice atmosphere and friendly) medium price range. Italian is always a nice choice.

That's what I am trying to explain to you....don't treat women like prostitutes. Spending money to impress them actually turns them off. Do something fun together. |

Sorry it does not have to be at a fancy restaurant Like Kenny said the point is to have fun. I would not spend much on a first date either because that way you wont spoil her. But please not any of your choices. Bring her to see a movie take her to a pizza place (Not Pizza Hut or Shakeys) find a small Italian place somewhere (They are everywhere) at least then go to the beach to chill or something. Dont bring her to Mickey D's also like what Mava said Bring food yourself cook for her or something that would be cool. Then go to a movie and hang out somewhere cozy and romantic

I guess I'm the only one that prefers cheeseburgers and hotdogs hahaha. The only real food I eat at nice restuarants is calamari, otherwise if there isn't a cheeseburger on the menu, I won't go. Though I do eat basically all Italian food, especially stuffed shells yum.

What he said. In San Jose there's this restaurant that's up in the mountains. If I was on a date I would take the girl up there. The drive is scenic cus it over looks the entire city. Take her up there a lil before sunset so we could watch it together. Then at night when the lights are lit, we could have a few drinks out on the backyard enjoying the valley of lights below. Something like that... |

BTW, the first date should be something fun / informal. The first DINNER date should be at a nice restaurant.

Also stay away from heavy foods, especially cream based. They make you lethargic... The misconception is that it's $$$ for a really good meal. There's a time and place for that (celebrations like anniversary's, etc.) but man get a nice bottle of red, killer appetizers and bring your game foo!
If it's during the day and hot outside, chill with some white wines or champagnes. I’ve never had a date say no to chilled champagne with fruit; think exotic as well like kiwi’s, kumquats (if you can find them). The secret is for her to “taste” a “little” of your flavor. No need to go all out especially on the first date; you want to maintain control and sense of surprise. Good luck homeslice! :rocks:
