Hot Aston DB9 breaks cover

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/news/au...aks_cover.html

New race-inspired DBRS9 will be fully road legal – and a highly capable machine on the track

Our spies captured this red-hot evolution of the new DB9 which will hit our roads later this year.

Inspired by the racing DBRS9, the newcomer follows the stripped-out N24 Vantage, which we were also the first to show you - in Issue 887.

Caught testing on the punishing Nürburgring race circuit in Germany, the car's bodykit has clearly been inspired by the track car, yet the GT remains fully road legal. At the front, there's a more aggressive bumper, while a new ground-hugging aerodynamic diffuser helps to improve the model's high-speed stability.

The car is powered by the standard Aston model's 450bhp 6.0-litre V12 powerplant, linked to the six-speed manual transmission from the DB9 GT. The performance improvements are achieved by changes to the aerodynamics and suspension.

Lightweight door and boot panels are also expected to be used, helping to shave vital tenths of a second off the standard version's 0-60mph sprint time of five seconds. At an impressive 186mph, the newcomer's top speed will remain the same as that of the car on which it's based. Inside, the cabin is tipped to get a makeover in order to make the best of the revised, more driver-focused chassis.

As well as having plenty of say in the exact specification of their model, buyers will also be able to opt for suede-trimmed bucket seats, along with a new, race-style steering wheel and minimalist dashboard.

Those interested in taking their cars to the track will be able to get a roll cage fitted in the rear of the cabin. Prices for the hot new Aston variant have yet to be announced.

OMG.. I THIN IT LOOKS SOOO SICK... THE NEW TAIL LIGHTS ARE ALMOST LIKE ALTEZAs lol (remember those days) But it looks good!!

This is what confuses me...that is one hell of a car, and I understand there is ALOT more to a race then straight line acceleration, but with "proceeded" 335's hitting 60 in 4.5(+,-) could a 50k dollar car really hit 60 faster then a 150-200k dollar car?? Whats the deal?

aston martin's have never been all about performance. it's more of a flashy great looking car with a big engine, but they've never been known to be great on the track compared to other cars half its price.

Have you ever heard a Vanquish up close (live)...the engine is magnificent. Maybe not supposed to be so 'fast' but the car is an instant classic...

"sooooo choice...if you have the means I do recommend picking one up..."

I think they are British muscle cars. With that title, that gets you good handling! Its a great combination of style, luxury, sporty, and exhilerating performance. the new Vanquish will do 0-100 in 9.6 seconds and has a top of 200+ mph! thats a great combination. But thats all coming from the V12 N/A hand built engine. The DB9 is just below that.

AND they make the only cars that look great in green! lol

The body panels are formed by hand and the interior stitching is also done by hand.

atleast $120k-$160K. Might touch 200. Correct me if I am wrong but it cant be more than the Vanquish S which is approx $220,000 right?

Its the sport version to the aston martin db9. This is between the base and that mean green track car version. But this is also redesigned in body work if you follow astons you will notice. Simply look at other pics and compare. This body styling is way more aggressive.
