Older meaning later down the line at any point of your life after your ownership of this current BMW is up.

Am I old? 56.

I was tempted to go MB (having a 14% discount w/ in-law in MB Advance Design) but at my advanced age chose BMW instead. My brother-in law supported my decision. And he bought an Audi!

I hate VW/Audi..... Mercedes is alright but the fact of having no MT is a big turn off. All of the newer japanese cars have terrible styling.

M5 or a Porsche is definitely next on my list.

When I get old I'll choose the car best fitted to my needs at the time. Since that's still far in the future, I'll stick to BMW for now and see what the future offers.

Interesting. A 3 series coupe definitely does not fit my needs right now (married, looking to expand family) but I couldn't pass up on the 335 and convinced the wife she couldn't either. We'll buy some beater car to carry babies and stuff later (to add to the 335).

I've owned an A4 with the 1.8T engine. The 328 has sharper handling and of course is much faster. It more suits my driving style than the Audi. The Audi interior is better designed than the BMW's though.

Thanks, Mike.

I'm not older (maybe to some on this board). I'm 29, and have had 2 Mercedes and 1 Audi.

After my BMW experience, I will NEVER go back to Mercedes.

It's just not the same driving experience.

My SLK 320 didn't have the fun factor that my 335i does!

The current 7 is outdated- I anticipate the new 7 to be as good or better than the current S. The new S has grown on me and now I love it. The new Jaguar is nice- especially the cool interior and I love Porsche's. Honeslty, I have been married for a year now and kids are probably on the way in the future so I think I'll enjoy my e92 for a few years then jump into the then-newly redesigned 5. My service department has provided the best service of any car I've owned and that alone keeps me buying BMW.

Different Strokes 4 Different Folks

Decisions, decisions...

I will choose BMW for now but when I concede to the super lofty luxury, I guess Mercedes CL or SL will be in my future. I actually love the new designs from Mercedes but my current taste for automotive realism keeps me in a BMW.

Who knows, I have a nice fleet today which provides a good combination of performance and luxury when I desire.

audi has a nicer car (A5/S5) in coupe imo. weaker in motor. Superior handling (comparing awd to RWD of course thats not fair).

i'd switch up between them.

audi is mod friendly at least

Define "older"? > 50? > 60? > 70?

By the time most us are "older" the fuel costs to run a car the size of the 7 will be outrageous without serious advances in fuel technology. It may be that we're all driving cars the size of a Mini with varying degrees of luxury and features based on the size of the wallet.

there's a guy living down the street who upgrades his 750il (now 760il) and just chester cruises the neighborhood. i mean its cool we know he's alright but i guess with that kind of cash you would probably cruise too. fwiw i owned an 89 750il about 10 years ago. it was nice. It was very fast and i learned quite abit about cars.

I repainted it from (beige) to cosmos metallic black, and got a set of racing dynamic 5 spoke 17's and limo tinted it. Seemed like everyone got out of your way and the cops never bothered me. Taught my wife (not then) how to drive in it. it was a money pit man $600+labor for a water pump lol.

I jumped from Audi into BMW ... but I could see a Benz in my future, if they fix their current reliability ratings
