I live in southern california and drive on the interstate 15 cajon pass on weekdays.
So much "vegas traffic" on friday afternoons when I am driving back down the hill.
And lots of car driving down the same way on sundays and mondays.
So I hate it when I have to get in traffic because of it.
I live 2.5hour drive from the Vegas. I am glad I am not a party person or I would have been broke by now lol
I don't go there often.

After a few months you will start to receive free, yes free rooms, those rooms are worth upwards of 500 a night and worth everybody bit of that! It will be free for you. Then when you get your room you don't even have to gamble there, go where ever, I've been doing this for years. There! You will get three days of rooms each visit. This hotel is as 5 star as it gets.
Interestinggggg.

I was there a week ago. Stayed at Aria. Place is beautiful. I think it's the nicest hotel in Vegas right now. Tastefully done, unlike sayyy the Encore. And the location is perfect. The only thing it could use improving on is the pool. It's nice, but not the nicest in Vegas by far. I think they just need a better bar/food situation out there. The casino is very nice, but it's not that huge when compared to a monstrosity like MGM or something. For another comparison, Bellagio's casino is also much bigger. They have enough of everything though. Oh and the service at Aria is also amazing. The rooms are typical, but again designed very nice. I stayed in a city view deluxe room. Suites are always unique so those are probably real nice.

As for clubs, Hakkasan was the best time I had on this go. That place is laid out awesome; great for tables, or even just to hang out.

Note: If you like to play some tunes in your room in-between the action downstairs make sure to bring a cable. There is no typical iPod dock. There is a plate on the desk under the TV which has all sorts of connections. It's actually pretty cool as long as you are prepared.

I hear Hakkasan is the new club now. I will be checking it out no doubt next year.

Mmmm, bloody mary's... Damn, I really want to go now.

Did you call any of the call card girls?

I'm curious about this as well. A few of my buddies want to go, and this has to be apart of the Vegas experience.

I lived in Vegas for a while when I was playing golf, though I was rarely there and when I was I was just working on my golf game more than anything. When we go, I typically bring my clubs and go play golf for as many days as we are there and do a small amount of gambling. Living there certainly makes the view of Vegas a little different, though.

I was at Aria for an entire week a few months ago, and it's definitely a good spot. My brother is Cosmopolitan guy. I was not that impressed by Vdara, but my favorite is by far the Mandarin Oriental.

Was at Spearmint Rhino not that long ago. One of our vendors bought us four tables, so the girls were ALL over it like FLIES on SHIT. There is literally no way you'll just get to sit back and chat and just enjoy the place without them constantly accosting you. If you're fine with that, you're in the right spot!

The only thing that pisses me off about Vegas is the restaurants. Not really the quality of food, because I cannot complain about that, but everyone who works there is like a fucking robot. No personality, no nothing. Awful. I hate it. Worst thing was when I went to CUT that they handed me a iPad for the drink menu. I almost threw it across the room. Who does that? Is this Applebee's?

We were very curious about this place while there. Walked by a bunch of times. Have never been inside, but just had the idea that it's kind of in the shadow of all these super hotel/casinos, and that it might be super nice as a result, in order to compete. I just took a look at their site and it does indeed look very nice. The standard rooms and the lower tier suites are not too much either. It's so close to Aria that it doesn't even matter that it doesn't have a casino.

I've heard of the Mandarin, never looked into it until you just mentioned it. I love the rooms, they look very well done. Website has some nice shots.

Can you give some pro's/con's with Mandarin vs the Aria?

It's not a party hotel mate, so no clubs, no casinos. So for me, when you've been raging at the club, pool party, or been gambling all day, you can get completely AWAY from that scene by retreating to the Mandarin. It's all about luxury, nothing else. The entrance is slightly unassuming, you take the elevator to the lobby where you have a very chilled out cocktail lounge. You take another elevator to your room. Very quiet, never see anyone hanging around, loitering, partying. Rooms are beautiful, nice gym, awesome steam room. The pool scene is chill also.

Prices are on par with other hotels in the area, so I don't think you're really paying a premium. And it's literally right next to Aria, so if you want to get back to where the action is, it's a 5 minute walk.

Last time I was there, Carl Cox was in the elevator with me. So I can only assume DJs stay there to "get away" also.
