The good:

I think it is great that BMW implores their designers to push boundaries of design and to be creative. I love that about the company. I like that they are doing some really interesting things with surfaces, and textures and materials. I appreciated some of the behind-the-scenes look at how the concept was created. That is really cool. I like the suicide doors, the embedded carbon fiber with the seats and the B pillar. The headlights are neat too.

The bad:

There is just too much going on here. The proportions the front kidney is TERRIBLE. On the current 7-er I think the kidneys are too big to start with, this is just too much of a good thing. I am not a fan of the design elements below the rear door and the treatments above the exhaust ports.

With the approach to weight reduction in the next 7er taking on something groundbreaking for the entire segment, the weight of the batteries can be offset because of the innovative vehicle structure. As well as utilising Carbon body panels like the rest of the 7er models . eDrive 7er will also feature Carbon wheels in an aerodynamic design. The crowning piece with be a six cylinder combined with an electric motor developing around 400 hp and the fuel consumption of a entry model 3er with the weight of an entry 5er.
So this is simply a concept that showcases features that will be shown in next generation 7 series and the X7? This isn't the 9 series?

The design is amazing, can't wait to see it on the road, but there is something wrong about the grills...

Make the kidneys smaller and then it'll work. The car screams presence.

Head lamps are wrong, if the bigger par was in the middle, that would work with a little sharper nose. As an over all, It's just too much work. There is much to see, but nothing to focus on entirely. This would be a beauty with no comparison, if someone would just take the pen off the designers hand a few minutes before the shading is done. The crucial lines are correct, but then there should be a pause in there somewhere. You just can not draw and draw and draw and still hold the attention.

As a disclaimer I offer this yet again: I own a Jack Russell.
