Having looked at your pics, I advise the following:
Buzz the sides, spike up the very front. You get all the maintenance advantages without looking like an egghead or a "going bald and trying to hide it" guy.

This will give you a more angular appearance, and should look well with sunglasses. I think if you shave it all off you will look like Ben Roethlisberger, who is a good quarterback, but looks 10x better with helmet on.

How about a controlled trial? Shave half your head. You can then take a poll (see related post regarding the popularity of polls) about which side looks better. For better reliability, however, you will need to do a cross-over, i.e. let it grow back then shave the opposite side. This would help minimize any bias from your having a "good side."

i shaved it when i was in college. it was great just getting up and going to class. no maintanance

BUT if you didnt like it itll take a couple months to grow it back to where it was. i dunno where people are getting this two weeks from and what theyre eating

oh yeah theres at least a couple week period where you look like a clown. but it is summer: do it.
