Audi A3 Clubsport quattro

F.ucking insane

Audi will be presenting the A3 clubsport quattro concept at the 2014 Wörthersee Meeting in Reifnitz (Kärnten). The concept study is based on the S3 Sedan and has a five-cylinder TFSI engine under the hood producing 386 kW (525 hp).

"The Audi A3 clubsport quattro concept shows our car and tuning fans at the Wörthersee just how much sporty potential there is in the A3 family and in our top-of-the-line engines such as the 2.5 TFSI. We have pushed the limits in every respect with this show car: power, dynamics, sound, design," says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management for Technical Development.

Based on the S3 Sedan, the show car is equipped with a powerful five-cylinder TFSI engine. The turbocharged engine with direct injection in the show car boasts an impressive success story. Since 2010, an expert jury has already voted it "International Engine of the Year" in its category four times in succession. The 2.5 TFSI powers the production Audi RS Q3. In the show car, the 2,480 cc five-cylinder produces 386 kW (525 hp) for a specific output of 155.6 kW (211.7 hp) per liter. With a total weight of 1,527 kilograms (3,366.5 lb), this corresponds to a power-to-weight ratio of 2.9 kilograms (6.4 lb)/hp. Maximum torque of 600 Nm (442.5 lb-ft) is available between 2,300 and 6,000 rpm. The Audi A3 clubsport quattro concept accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62.1 mph) in 3.6 seconds and reaches a top speed of 310 km/h (192.6 mph).

I know it is a concept, but a good one. Now if only it were RWD based....

Wow, I can honestly say that this is by far one of my favorite designs out currently. Everything just looks so right on it. RWD + 6MT would really make this top notch.

Wow! This would be a total hit.

How in the hell does Audi build an AWD sedan and it only weighs 3365lbs! The M235 with the manual is 3,495lbs!

To give you an idea of what the potential for that engine is, check this out! "Only 450hp" and it hung right in there with a modified e60 M5, which we all know are monsters when it comes to rolling races.

+2 ,although I'm fine with AWD.

I love the look of this thing. The proportions are perfect.

This is the first Audi I've seen where the bulges, swells and bevels don't look all cold and calculated. It looks good. It actually looks different, and I respect them for that. I hope it ends up on the road.

Hmm, doesn't do it for me. I prefer it to something like a chrome fender badge for sure but I don't like badges or logos on the side of any sort. Audis look great debadged too

I'm smoking grand daddy kush, son.

I never implied Audi was known for mass producing RWD, I was simply stating things that I like, that would make the car that much more appealing for...., ME. So that means 6MT + RWD.

Totally missed the rings on the rear doors. That probably won't make it to the production model IMO.

I think thewy will make production, or at least as an option. Audi have used them in the past.

Yes, but that looks like a decal whereas the rings in the A3 picture above look to be stamped into the door body panel. Could be my eyes deceived me. Don't see them making two different doors.

It already has different doors than the A3/S3 to accommodate the flared RS fenders.

I'll be all over that car if they do slap the RS3 name tag on it... i'll go pre-order that shizz today if they'll let me. That damn interior though... they have to at least make the screen dip into the dash because it just looks so out of place.
