Been on three, Princess once and Holland America twice. I have to say, out of the three, when I was the Eurodam with Holland America for a 7 day, that was the best. Had awesome amenities, stopped at some great locations, and the boat was maybe a year old at the time (2012?). All the meals were pretty damn good for being buffet style eating three meals a day compared to the other two. The boat itself wasn't the largest, but there was a lot going on at any time of the day to keep you occupied and moving around.

I also won karaoke at 1am plastered singing Come Sail Away.

Carnival is gaudy as a 70's Vegas hotel and is a non stop sales pitch. Even the safety brief was a sales pitch. I did a west mexico cruise. Ships leave port super early so you're forced to spend money on board. My room was over a casino. They jammed a band in there to attract people. It felt like the speakers were right outside my door and they'd do the same 5 songs until 1 am every night (while all the sound-insulated stages were vacant). They acted like this was the first complaint they had. That said, it's like half the price so you get what you pay for

Holland in AK was fantastic. I'm doing RC this summer- east Caribbean

Been on Holland America, and it was clearly aimed at a very different demographic than us.

I think we were the only passengers on board under the age of 70. We were certainly the only couple at the dinner table who wasn't born before the start of WW2.

It was an Alaskan cruise, which we have subsequently come to understand skews older than the Caribbean anyway, but still, it was a bit of a surprise for us. The other brands of Cruise line that were docked at the various ports seemed to have younger people on board, so I'd look into that next time.

I did AK and Caribbean. There was maybe a handful of couples on the Caribbean aside from my girlfriend and her family, although, not as bad as the AK. Definitely hits a much older crowd than when I went on Princess.

I guess it was good for me because it kept temptations at a minimal. Although, one of the dancers Kelsey got me in trouble one night. The crew on the Eurodam was fun to hang out with, but they were the youngest group on the whole boat.

Damn...., I am really inclined to check this out as my next cruise. Looks hella fun. Being around a bunch of 90 year olds was making my dick soft on all my past experiences.

Skip Carnival if you want to enjoy you're cruise.

I have an employee who was on the Royal Caribbean ship that caught on fire last year. They flew them back to port, gave them all their money back, and a free trip of equal value as an apology.

I read somewhere Carnival had an incident where the guests lost half their trip due to similar circumstances as above the they only refunded half the money.

this is highly untrue, granted I've only sailed carnival. Currently done 3 cruises on carnival, my ex gf while we were dating sailed on all of them with me and in the time frame went on 1 Royal and 1 Norwegian. She said there isn't too much of a difference, at least not to justify cost. Look at carnival breeze, magic and even sunshine. The ships are beautiful and up to par with the rest of the competing cruise lines. Hadn't had one REAL complaint on the cruises I've been on and I have my 4th cruise booked with carnival at the end of this year. It's all about ports and at the time I'm going 1 extra day AND one extra port of call was $100 cheaper per person on carnival than the other companies on their Breeze ship. People need to wake up, while the ship is definitely a major roll in a cruise, the excursion, ports and night life are what will make the trip. All food is mostly similar anyway.... Do whats cheapest assuming the ships available are newer.

I guess being 25 influences my decision a lot too, so I may be biased.

Thanks for being the grammar police on a car forum on an off-topic forum. Been on Carnival once and had food poisoning, so that was my last cruise with them. They're cheap for a reason. There are better options.

They didn't even get their money back. Carnival offered 50% off their next cruise. Needless to say some didn't take them up on their offer.

Wow neither. Cruises are a real bummer. Go spend that money on nicer hotel rooms and expensive dinners at a real destination.
