Harsh crowd indeed lol..

I actually kind of like it. Although I love my bimmer I have nothing against mercedes for releasing this baby AMG. I much rather but the CLA45 for $50k than a 528...

I was only really attracted to it due to its low price (for an AMG) and the specs sound really good on paper but I don't think I've seen enough info about it to have a firm opinion. The look of the car is mediocre and the FWD bias is by far the biggest turn off by far for me.

Yes I agree the CLA45 is a very interesting car, I personally even find the looks appealing.
Unfortunately it really is a smaller class car than the 3 series.

Yup. It's a small sporty car that's reasonably affordable. Supposedly it's a pretty rowdy ride too. According to this at least:

I think it is amazing there is a semi normal production car with 355hp from a 4cyl. A little to much power for front bias, but says it can do 50/50 split.

Not really. Not a fan of the looks. If I wanted a four door car like that I would get an M3

RWD sacred? Yes what/who are you referring to? Awd is awesome and I believe its on par with a rwd car. Ii'd put any sti (minus the ring failures) up to any American muscle car and ever our 335i's/xdrive. So whether its rwd or awd, no matter, its all good. FWD is utter shit when it comes to performance vehicles.

You might as well call this new cla it a glorified civic.

Wow. Don't know if I'd go that route. If think that the engine was already stressed pushing out 355hp from 2 litres and four cylinders.

Why stressed? The engine should produce the stock hp without stress. Not to forget the emission rules that massivly reduces hp output!

actually ... they're sorted their game out. I've owned two Mercedes : 2009 CLC 180 Kompressor sport and a 2009 C250 CDI with AMG pack. Both white

The CLC i bought brand new. Mercedes now offer a 30 year body warranty as long as you keep the car serviced at Mercedes-Benz.

I work at a salt mine and the CLC had chrome strips within the bump strips on the side of the car. One of these trims rusted so i went down to the dealers and they made an appointment for me to have it replaced straight away, no questions asked.

CLA is nice too

I love everything about it except the price and no manual. I don't care if its a 4cyl. My last car was a K04 hybrid turbo'd GTI which made about the same hp with custom tune as AMG (but without the low end tq of a twin scroll turbocharger) and I don't care how sexy sounding and smooth 6 and 8 cyl are there is still something to be said about the rush of a small 4cyl pushing 25lbs of boost (same as my GTI lol). Who can argue with a 12.8 1/4 @ 110mph stock. Fast is fast and these high powered 4cyl are usually able to retain much better gas mileage when not pushed. Me and my wife simply refuse to buy anything other than a traditional manual so anything that doesn't come with one isn't considered.

C63 isn't even remote in the same ligue... A fat V8 versus 4c turbo...

I would get it, why not?

The seats are insanely nice for the price, only crappy thing about it is the dashboard design with the ugly tablet sticking out.

A wide body on that car would be game over.

Word. My WRX def got better mileage than my 335xi even without direct injection and only 5 gears

Test drove this car today - not that impressed to be honest. The ext/int styling is attractive; however, the dual clutch transmission is harsh and interior materials are cheap. For 60k-ish ill buy a S4, 335i, M3 or Porsche Cayman.

Still love my E90 335i.

anyone who has spent time in a F3x 328 knows all about 4 cyls......the torque is adequate, but it vibrates....8 cyls. do not inherently have 2ndary balance, but they are for all intents and purposes smooth, inline 6's have secondary balance. Even with Germans, this stuff doesn't seem to matter anymore, it's all about $$$$....and marketing....

I was once intrigued by an Intrigue.

I only bought one cause Fox Mulder drove one on "X-Files"
