I cannot wait until the price drops, and it is available across the entire series line.

I'm sure with today's technology it's possible to integrate speed trap locations into HUD if someone really want to do it.

Useless if wearing polarized glasses

Do not bother if wearing polarized glasses - HUD will simply get blocked.

Then my wife will be very happy, because she doesn't like it, while I like the added benefits.

I wonder how reliable this is. In the past, some fancy technology introduced by BMW wasn't known for being reliable or long-lasting. It would defeat the purpose if the HUD is too fragile or prone to issues. Of course, I'm assuming BMW is aware of this...

It's fantastic. I wonder how much HUD you can actually see in sunlight glare?

It's one of the worthy additions to the new 3-series. I drove an F10 with HUD and it was really nice and clear, even in sunny weather.

I'v driven over 100 000 miles with HUD without a single problem. Technically this new version is pretty similar to the old one, just more developed. I'd assume no problems at all.

It's a very basic technology. Corvettes have had it forever... Taxis use them world-wide.

I want a HUD that can detect and lock onto cop cars but I feel that's probably 20 years off... or someone could write a droid app today.

For those saying windshield replacements would cost a lot, I don't know what insurance provider you have but mine replaces OEM windshields for free, no matter the cost, with no deductible. Last time a big rock cracked my windshield I got excited because I knew I was getting a brand new one

Full color HUD is what you get when you pick that option on F12/F13.

....and Pontiac has HUD on their cars dating back to the late 90's......this is nothing new.

Perhaps the clarity makes it better, the amount of information, but DEFINITELY nothing being pioneered here.

Cheers,
