Take some time to read a few EV forums. The Tesla network sounds great until non Tesla EV'ers find out the cables on Tesla chargers are too short to reach, because all Tesla EV have the charge port on the left-rear corner, where as most other EVs don't.

Makes me laugh when BMW was pushing that shocking network at launch (in the U.K. I’d add)… what was it Ionity?

Great charge speed but about 4 chargers within 300 mile radius of me. Handy 150 mile diversion to use them.

Absolute joke so yes in the Us it totally makes sense to adopt the Tesla / NACS but really no option other than to follow suit for BMW and others.

Telsa owners are really getting screwed recently. With all of the massive msrp reductions and now this.

Yeah if you bought a plaid first of this year and see that people are paying 30 to 40 thousand less now.

As well now all these people that can use the chargers they've had exclusive access to will crowd them a bit now.

Kind of like when I had the grandfathered unlimited data package through Verizon and then they slowly whitled that away. Thought I was the cool guy on the block till they took it away lol.

Kind of embarrassing that every other company gave into Elmo over this, but having more options is good.

He probably had no choice. Uncle Sam would probably take it from him at some point in the future anyway and he'd have lost the opportunity to make money by cutting deals now with the other CCS manufacturers.

In the same town Mercedes dealer was on CNBC explaining why MB EVs are piling up.
That I7 is not selling because is an EV...its not selling because it might be the ugliest car ever built...by a huge margin. Just look at it....LOL....its an embarrassment.

Well, it seems like the more people call BMWs ugly the more units they sell

I personally think the i4, i5, i7 trio are the best non-Tesla EVs currently on sale. The MB is an abomination, Audi SW is junk, Taycan interior is a mess with functions randomly assigned to the multiple screens.

I think BMW is really getting their costs under control with i8/9 across all their models, and giving into Android and NACS. Porsche, MB, VWAG have their SW and displays in total disarray. And the BMW cars have by far the best dynamics (driving).

I actually think BMW maybe the single best positioned legacy automaker making the EV transition.

They just need customers to want to buy them small detail

Tend to agree. A few problems with customers wanting to buy them. The main one is the lack of charging infrastructure. The second is how creatively they’ve niched the products. The sedan is out of vogue in general, at least over the past several years. The i4 is cramped. The i5 is ugly. The i7 is enormous and very expensive. The iX is also unfortunately ugly and expensive and lacks a 3rd row. They’ll figure it out eventually. And the comment about ugly = sales only works for high performance M variants and because the competition has disappeared.

I agree that the iX is ugly. I love the i5 and I actually love the headlights in the i7. The i4 was too cheap looking inside for me.

Iirc Tesla got paid millions in tax credits or federal subsidies to allow this.

Tesla isn’t allowing use of all its chargers, I read 10-20%. I’m a huge fan, love my Model S Plaid, my M5 sits idle now. Still like the car but the Plaid is so much better, faster, smoother, economical, fun…..

As Americans we should all be proud of Tesla. It’s the most American car company after all. Why the dislike for Musk and EV? Because it’s something else to challenge, be against so why not? Drive one for a week and see how you feel.

Yes, it’s not a pretty sight and it has a high belt line that looks absolutely bizarre

I have always liked the seven series

Not anymore it’s weird looking

Sure it can. Remember the baby formula scare of 2022. The government has so many laws, rules, and regulations it can do whatever it wants. Re: AT&T, Standard Oil Trust, US Steel, etc.

Take it from Elon as in force him to let all manufacturers use the Tesla network without compensation.
