Post-race Perez got handed a 5s penalty and 1 penalty point because of colliding with Albon.

Stewards coined his move "an “optimistic” late manoeuvre by the driver of Car 11, that it could be defined as “diving in”". They concluded that Perez was predominantly to blame. He keeps P8.

Max had a heck of a race. If not for the first SC, he may have won it. He was down ~18 seconds with 5 laps to go and nearly passed Lec.
I also have to say, Sai does not get the credit he should. He is super consistent and really been racing well. On top of that, he is better than any teammate Ham has had...except maybe Alo (and I don't think he's that far off...if at all).
Law is looking mighty impressive in the AT. If they adopt more RB parts, I could see them giving Ferrari, AM, and MB some headaches.

Good race!

I'm going to say that if Hamilton had been 3rd with George behind, Ham would have won that race.

Or he would have been in the wall.

By the time RUS caught up to Lando, his tyres were also pretty shot and overheated from closing the gap over those 10 laps of hammering. If Hammy had done that work, his tyres would've been shot too.
In hindsight probably the best combination would have been one driver closing the gap, and then switch to have the other driver overtake Lando.
But no driver is gonna have his 3rd (and potentially 2nd or 1st) place taken away by such team orders.

I think he meant Hamilton has dedicated personal passing lanes on this track.

We will never know, but based on how fiercely Sainz defended his P1 track position when Verstappen was trying to overtake him in Monza + how hard Sainz and Norris/Russell/Hamilton lusted for the victory in Singapore, chances were considerable that contact would have been made at Singapore. I doubt that Sainz would have let anyone pass in the final laps - he would have gone elbows out to keep the golden ticket. The driver who would have managed to pass Sainz, would have sustained car damage in some shape or form.

NOR had no intention of going for the lead, he caught on quick that SAI was actually helping him (with the DRS gap) from the Merc threat and unless SAI had a problem that would slow him that's where he was staying.

The better strat call would've been to leave George in p2 and only pit Lewis, but I don't think they factored in the possibility of a Sainz induced drs train.

Even with pitting both mercs, Lewis showed quite a bit more pace than George on that last stint. He certainly would've made things interesting if George wasn't holding him up. Team also could've asked George to move aside, and had Lewis give the position back if he couldn't get the moves done (which he's done in the past).

But once those MEDs were on, he was lapping 3 seconds faster than everyone, and was on the same pace as the Mercedes with low fuel load and fresher tires.

He almost caught LEC at the end too.

Suzuka is where they'll be able to test out all their upgrades that they couldn't here, and the Ferrari still has bad tire deg compared to the RB.

And if it rains in Japan, which often it does, RB is guaranteed a win as Max is very good in the rain, and Ferrari straight line speed won't be an issue.

The TD has not affected anything on that RB, or Max wouldn't be able to work his way up the standings on pure pace.

I don't know what race you watched but he wasn't until Mercedes caught Norris. Lap times can be found here.

I actually think Ham is as accident prone as Rus if not more. He cracks under pressure (Monza with Pia), last year in Singapore where he just ran off with no one around him, etc. If not crashing he probably would have just cut the track like he also seems to do more than anyone else.
