Go build one on the website and it sure comes out to alot more then 40-45k. Especially after tax and everything else. I paid EXACTLY what the website MSRP was plus tax and ended up being like 60k (about 57k built, with about 3k in different taxes and fees). So you should say your in the 55-60K market. And for that.......Z06, Z4M, used RS4, damn good E39 M5, super clean and almost new E46 M3, or whatever else is sportier in that range.

I agree with the rest when they say to just moddify your current e92 up a bit more. And you say you have V1's......I've heard from many vendors and others that V1's are pointless, so you should have, or still can, go with V2 or 3. Get some software, get an exhuast, and whatever other performance mods come out and you;ll be fine.
$60k for an E92??? I really Really Hope you got kissed before they sealed that deal...

Haha yea right, I wish......they actually have a lot of really hot girls that work the different counters there. They did throw in a set of all weather floor mats though haha. Other then that............no special treatment. I didnt get jipped out of anything or cheated. I built an E92 335i up to my specifications with them at the dealer on BMWusa.com, ordered it, and paid exactly what BMWusa.com listed plus the expected taxes and fees.

thats if you need every single option...some people dont and personally i would never pay 60k otd for a 3 series. thats just insane.. if you paid 60 otd for a 3er, you couldve got a well discounted cayman s. if oyu deal right, you can usually get 15% off the msrp on p cars.

A built cayman S is close to 90-95k!! I hear you though man, I just wanted the options and I feel that a fully loaded e92 335i is worth 60K. I also dont like buying used cars and base cars, becuase to me part of the thrill of a car is all of its high tech features and options so without it it'd just be kinda ehh whatever. Theres only a few cars out there that come with so much that you only need to chose minor options. I didnt get a good or bad deal, I just got a standard MSRP deal and I mean.......Im really happy with it all so whatever.

Funny since I'm in a similar situation.

I miss having a coupe, so looking trade my E90 for either an E92 335i, or an E46 M3. I'm finding myself leaning more and more towards the M car. Figure that without serious mods, the 335 is going to be nothing but a faster version of my car. And another of my complaints with the E90 is that well... it's not very thrilling. It's great driving to the office each morning, but just doesn't put that grin on my face.

15% interesting since there is only about 13% margin in them and lord knows they don't sell them under invoice, no no, not Porsche. granted, 13% is still nearly twice what most car manufacturers have in a car, but still...not 15%. in my personal dealings with Porsche dealers and my father incld. the best you will ever be able to do is 10% and that's on a poorly optioned, or over optioned, vehicle that has been sitting on the lot for a long time. most dealers will gladly take off 5%-7%. certainly not 15%.

If you want something that is fun to drive, but bigger than an Elise get a Cayman, WRX STI, Evo, S2000, Boxster or a used 996.

Don't buy an overpriced Cayman if you want a backseat...get this beautiful, reasonably priced, $35ishK, M3.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68674

I would buy that car today if I had not purchased my 335i months ago. The asking price is unbeatable.

Or, buy an EVO...an incredible sports car.

+1 This is my plan. I would mod a bit and wait until you can get the new E92 M3.

You guys that really think that you want an E46 M3, there is a new Interlagos Blue beauty at the dealer in my town -- call Dennis Carter at Machens BMW 573 446 2619. (Just in case I didn't remember that # right, the other # is 573 445-4450)

you felt the cayman was overpriced? I test drove the S and loved it. At my height, it wasn't comfortable enough to be my DD. I'll probably have to go 911 instead down the road, but I can't deny that it was an amazing drive.
