That's what I figured and mentioned in a previous post, the 400 end of a 100-400 with a 2.0x TC won't AF even on a 1DX.

I think to get 800mm w/ AF I'd need a better lens than the 100-400 or even the 400 f/5.6; not exactly sure. If I end up with a 1DX and a 500mm I'd need to carry the 6D around for "normal" shots!

Unfortunately this last race weekend was kind of heavy on crashes and red flags. One of the riders had to be air-lifted (we know him) so I got some shots of the "Trauma Hawk" helicopter that flew in, landed on the track, and then took off to the hospital. This shot is the Trauma Hawk taking off with injured rider already inside.

On the way to Vegas, just noticed that you could barely see some mountains cresting through the clouds in the middle. Thought the puffy clouds would make for a neat shot.

First try to capture the Milky Way, but it didn't quite turn out like the ones I've seen on Flickr.

^^^Nice one Mark

remmib, that is still a nice shot. Astro photography is something I would love to try to learn someday.

Thanks! I never get tired of driving this highway. Yes, there was just a bit from a small system last Wednesday. I have tons of pictures that i will be putting in a separate post, as I had quite a bit of fun driving around the eastern sierras looking for a splash of fall colors.

And an FYI for anyone wondering, that structure running across the mountain is a snow shed that the Southern Pacific built for a now abandoned rail line. The railroad (now Union Pacific) now has just one track over the summit a few miles from this one.

I was a little early this year, but Cumbres Pass, Colorado/New Mexico is still one of my favorite riding areas. This shot was taken on the New Mexico side.

I got all the parts I needed last week, and got around to my final modification on the Segway chair. I am now fully dirt capable.

Thanks guys! I took it out this afternoon to try it out on some trails and it handled better than I expected. My buddy rode his mountain bike along with me and grabbed some shots for me using my Nex6.

I don't usually like posting pictures of myself, but I will make an exception. It's been a long time since I was able to get to places like this

Very nice! No seat belt needed?
As for the target on your garage door, you should write in, " I shoot a lot lower."
