Exactly. This is what happens to your front tension strut bushings when you run a BBK, R-Comps, and coilovers.

Meh, I like to just ignore that stuff, and for good reason. If I looked at all the maintenance I've done on my car I'd probably just depress myself

I was spending about $50k per year between racing and test days on my E30 which is cheaper to run than an E90. Then I started a driver development program doing my own events with private clients, then I was spending about $300k per year. That is why I run a tally per hour, many parts have a maintenance cycle of hours expected and I had to keep a spreadsheet of each car and hours used on given parts.

My best advice is set a budget of how much you are will to spend per month or year and stick to it. Do not rationalize with yourself or you will start telling your self you would save money buying a truck, trailer and race car if you sold your E90. Trust me, this is how it starts.

But but but...I can bring extra wheels which will mean I won't have to miss track time going into town for tire service. And I can install a generator for power and air conditioning which means I can bring the girlfriend and turn it into a mini vacation, which is cheaper than getting a hotel. And a $50,000 diesel tow rig pickup truck is kind of practical anyway, I mean I really need to haul mulch home from home depot once every couple of years. And if I get an enclosed trailer I can use it for storage instead of building another garage. Then I can factor in the times that I won't have to pay for a get-home tow if my daily car broke at the track, as well as missed track time!

Any way I see it, it's nothing but practical and cost effective

At least that's what I tell myself
