I'm a bit skeptical about the format of the test. Quite a bit of it I belive are quite useless and I wonder if it really is a true way to measure "intelligence". For example - the scrambled letters stuff - what a bunch of crock. Not that it was difficult - it was quite easy for me - but I was wondering what they were trying to get at. And the questions asking things like "the 7th vowel in this sentence is an E - true/false?" - uhhhhh...ok...

This particular test doesn't really feel like an intelligence test but a speed test gauging how fast your eyes can twitch because half of the questions require you to re-examine the questions with scrutiny. Hell, a blind genius wouldn't be able to score well on that test - lame, isn't it?

GPA is more reliable than these internet tests. if you did bad in school, it may not be because you're not smart, but you can only blame yourself for not working to your potential.

GPA is not reliable. That's why colleges actually place a greater emphasis in:

1) Your actual class standings
2) The rigor of your highschool
3) Your SAT scores

I was in the top 10% of my high school graduating class. I don't consider myself smart though and I certainly wasn't born with any common sense!

THe funny thing is those IQ tests in real life work pretty much the same way. They show you a picture of something and you have a certain amount of time to notice everything that's wrong with it. So speed is certainly a measure of how smart you are...

If you mention that you're Asian - that actually goes against you in the admissions process. Asians are actually opposed by affirmative action now since they're saturating our schools. Damn smart Asians...

Nice call. If you said you were black and gay, you'd get into Harvard.

It is. You draw your own box and write "other"

Quite a few schools had the "other" option when I applied...

Nah, at first I thought you were talking about "other" for this poll. I was like, there's no "other" option!

Just kidding, Bella, ya know, calling you a moron and all!

How can we say "I did good in school" when I can't say "I did bad in school"? So it should be "I did goodly in school". You goodygoodgirl, trying to correct everybody with your privatized education.

Actually, I think you're supposed to say "I did well in school" and that's coming from a public school education!
