Your probably right, seeing how we are arguably the most educated generation in the history of this country...

Speaking of which, maybe thats why all of us 20 something year olds might actually be able to afford a BMW at this stage of our life.

I think there is a lot of ego in this thread. Too many people feel that they are most important to BMW blah blah blah. I just want a great car at a fair price and this will be the first of many that are on the horizon I am interested in.

Wink weird...

I dont want to get in the middle of this whole 128er bashing thread but what I dont understand is...if this guy posts such stupid and annoying pricing threads, then why do you all reply to it. I mean it takes alot to get to 4 pages and while alot of them are back and forth bickering about someone giving their 16 yr old a 135i and whether or not the 135i is aimed at high schoolers, none-the-less you all commented and fueled his thread. Furthermore, we are all curious about pricing and since no official numbers have been released, it is not wrong nor out-of-line for 128er to continue his wishful thinking. In fact, I too wish the 135i was going to be priced in the 33K range, but I know it wont happen.

As for the OP's question, I believe this car will be aimed at the 25+ driver and not limited to the older generation looking for a thrilling car to drive. High School kids should not be able to afford this car but I know some will end up with them. I personally will try to get this car for a graduation present if i can get out of my lease, but if not, I am looking for the MY09/10 before I make my purchase.

Sorry man, I wish I flew, and sometimes regret not going the airforce or military route, but I just love the quote and movie in general. I trust you take care of yourself out there?

Actually I am just in flight school now, my nickel ride is coming up here in a couple weeks and I am just hoping not to kill everyone in the helicopter. I am Army though so there aren't really any movies like Top Gun for us. But we still quote it every chance we get.

I think you will be pretty secured with a job for the rest of your life if you want it. When you get your 135i, driving it might get close to rivaling flying? haha jk, I can only imagine how much fun flying is, I get excited when I go on a plane for vacation...haha

Income and real wage statistics easily available on the web would refute the quote above. It really depends on your definition of "affording"....spending 75% of your gross annual salary on a BMW is far from affording....I'll stick to my opinion that a 128, at a cost of $32K should be purchased by someone with at least a $110k annual household income, regardless of monthly expenses.

As for this generation being the most educated, you may be right with respect to % of population with a college diploma vs past generations. However, the United States continues to slip alarmingly compared to the rest of industrialized nations in math, science, and geography scores. Moreover, the high school dropout rate is at an all time high, a statistical fact.

A cursory glimpse of the inarticulate, poorly composed, and woefully misspelled threads and replies here only solidifies my opinion above....

I dont think you'll have anything to worry about with future President Clinton.....you'll have a job, and God willing she'll keep us out of another foolish debacle, this time in Iran, balance the budget, correct the trade deficit that has killed our dollar, restore credibility of our nation in the eyes of the rest of the world through intelligent diplomacy, not acting like a gunslinger of the old west.... provide some sort of reasonable healthcare for the 45 million uninsured Americans, and keep this country safe from threats, foreign and domestic....it needs to be done, and with her as President with an advisor like Bill Clinton, it will get done....no doubt...

82%of statistics are made up on the spot.

Or is it 82% of my statistics...

It all depends on where you live when it comes to income vs. what you should spend on a vehicle and your use for it. I am leasing mine because I have just this life to live and I know I will never make the 110 needed but I can swing it without that.

As for our education level, we have issues with equality accross the nation so that really sets us back IMO. But nothing on this sight is really worth arguing about so I'm gonna drive on.

I don't think Senator Clinton would be a bad President, I just know that I haven't met one member of our military personally that supports her. Times were extremely bad for the military during the last Clinton Era, but that is something the general pub never really knows. I am sure she will do a lot of good things in many areas, but I for one would prefer to fight the fights that need fighting and would appreciate being provided the means to do so. I'm not saying getting into Iraq was a great move, but we got to live the situation were in, not the one we would like to be in.

There are some 20-somethings that make that. My household income was that by the time I graduated at 21 (counting my live-in girlfriend who's now my wife). By 25 it was that much just on my own. And that was living in an area with a very low cost-of-living.

But I don't claim there to be a whole legion of others that happened to be as lucky as I have been either. Certainly not enough to really be considered a 'market'.

Let's not turn this into a political discussion. That would breed more contempt than a pricing thread...

What are you doing in Lincoln to make that Sigma if you don't mind me asking? I am from Nebraska and just curious. Are you on a waiting list there or is there not enough interest?

If you make about $45 ~ $60k a year and are financially responsible, you should be able to afford a $30,ooo car...!

Everyone situation is different, taxes, housing and disposible income all need to be considered.

As for voting for Socialist medicine and other liberal views, that are part of some Presidential Candidate's views... The Government does not exsist to take care of you, only to protect and govern!

Read the United States Constitution some time!
