Why a buy a 335i when you can get this..

http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...-youtube-.html

Hotness! I'm looking for a smaller, more agile car to eventually do track duty. If you can get a 135i for $35k loaded, who will spend $50k on a 335i?

Not trying to "diss" the 335i, its a very nice car, but aside from rear seat space and a little badge snobbiness, why not get the "1"?

My "ideal" choice would be a M1 but that's probably 2009...

I'm sorry but the sedan has hardly any room. If you have kids I'd get an X3.

The 1 has drawbacks though. It is to small to many and doesnt look proportional.

Sure it is cheaper but there are other aspects to a vehicle. Great vehicle though.

While the 135 will probably be a hot seller, I'm not sold on the looks just yet.
Have to wait and see it in the flesh. And I bet a loaded 135 won't be too much less than my well optioned 335.
Can't wait to see what an M1 will do though

+1, no reason to sell it cheaply. I think it will come in around 35k base, my 335i was 39k. With options add 3-5k.

but seriously, performance doesn't always mean everything...you gotta have some look to back it up too..

to me, i think the 1 series look unproportional...it's a weird looking car...

i'm sure it'll be fast as hell and a beast around the track with upgraded suspension....i just can't get past the looks...

Folks that are looking for a refined, high performance Coupe that still comfy= 328/335.

I am sure there are plenty out there that would have bought the 135 instead had it been available. But I know I had an M3 on my mind and wasn't looking for a smaller car really when I found the 335 it was like someone had taken all the good stuff out of all my previous cars and bundled it together into one perfect all around car. So 3-series it is, though next up will be an Z4 M coupe.

I'm not completely sold on the looks either. I have to see this in person to really give it a better opinion.

FYI -- according to official specs, the 135i is only ~ 150 lbs. lighter than the 335i, it's certainly not as good looking as the 335i, it's smaller than the 335i, and 0-60mph in 5.3 sec. (according to BMW...so it's still probably 4.8sec. 0-60mph). Frankly, I would've thought the 135i would be ~ 3,200 lbs., and with the N54 F/I tt engine, that thing would fly...but it just doesn't seem like that's the plan. Of course, if you add the PROcede...

From what I read (speculation) it will be around $35k with options. That's about $10k less than a 335i coupe.

I've seen them in Europe, they are a very "polarizing" look. Love it or hate it.

The interior bits are pretty much 3 series bits from when I was in one before. Should feel about the same as the E90 3's.

FYI -- Here's a link with the official specs as of 6/30/07; unless they're incorrect, it says the 135i Coupe weighs 3,438 lbs, just 133 lbs. less than the 335i (3,571 lbs.).

Don't like the style of X3, but I am also driving a X5...

undoubtedly the 3 looks better

but really, if you can get by with a smaller car it'll be hard to pass up the 1 series

it's just like the 5 being so much more than the 3, but not being much bigger

And why get a 535i when you can get a 335i for cheaper, and probably a little faster?
