Exhaust option

Has anyone done a muffler delete and a vibrant ultraquiet resonator on their n52 328i?

Looking for a nice tone with some volume. Not sure if I want to delete my cats yet.

Try 135i muffler with or without resonator delete. Sounds like PE. If you search on youtube "135 muffler on 128i" theres a clip.

or even 330 muffler has a valve. direct fit. Source a vacuum pump.

I saw them time to times on market, around 50-100$. I dont know how they sound, but I was tempted to try.

I simply use those generic valved muffler with pneumatic actuator. Wanted a 3''.

The muffler delete will amplify the engine's natural sound, providing a deeper and more aggressive tone, while the vibrant ultraquiet resonator will help in reducing any unwanted drone or raspiness, ensuring a smooth and refined exhaust note.

Regarding the catalytic converters, it's wise to proceed with caution. Deleting them can potentially improve flow and increase volume further, but it may also lead to legality issues depending on your local emissions regulations. Additionally, removing catalytic converters can have adverse effects on the environment.

If you're uncertain about deleting the cats, you can start with the muffler delete and resonator setup first to gauge the sound and see if it meets your preferences. It's always a good idea to consult with experienced enthusiasts or professionals to ensure the modifications align with your goals and local regulations.

Overall, the combination of a muffler delete and vibrant ultraquiet resonator should provide a nice balance of tone and volume for your N52 328i, giving you an enhanced driving experience without going overboard.

Thank you, ChatGPT

I ran a 330i exhaust with catless headers and secondary cats. Very factory sporty sound and subtle burbles too. Unfortunately with the valve always open, cold starts are pretty loud and it drones at highway speeds. I eventually went back to stock but would still recommend the 330i set up to those that aren't as sensitive to NVH as I am.

I also had the Performance Exhaust with stock cats and catless midpipes. That sounded awesome but was obnoxiously loud.

What exactly is this full setup? Do you have any sound clips?

What is the difference between the 135i n55 muffler and the n54 muffler?

The internal piping on the N54 135i muffler has more perforations, as I understand, and the N55 is closer to the PE.

I did do some sound clip, but when I was about to import the clips into Powerdirector to edit , the files corrupted... I need to do new one.

The sound won't be relative to most setup since it's pretty unique .
It's a E91 , N54 single turbo, pipe arrangement is 1-2-1 (downpipe, OEM dual mid pipe, 3'' single pipe).
High flow cat > 18'' vibrant resonator > 3'' ebay specials pneumatic valved muffler.

I like it a lot. Still in breaking in period, dont have ton of time to use this car for now, it's my 5th car as ''a project car''

While it's not on your original list, i'll plug the AA gen2 axle-back exhaust. Nice mellow sound, but still noticeable. Looks good. Don't have to scour junkyards or ebay to find.

That actually sounds really nice with a resonator delete. Is there any other sort of modifications I need to do to the muffler?
