What's the value?

Hey everyone, happy new year!

I have purchased my sony vaio laptop about 5 years ago and I haven't really used it. I left it in storage for quite sometime now haha. Anyway its getting older and Im looking to sell it since I have no use for it. I have contacted a few websites on response as to how much my notebook is worth. How would I know I am getting a fair deal since it originally back in 2003 cost $2000.

If you post the specs it may be easier to guess but a five year old laptop is basically a paperweight now. Maybe you can donate it to Goodwill.

yea sorry, anyway I don't know much about computers, so it has

3.2 ghz
60 gig hard drive
16" monitor
good condition
xp home
pentium 4

Get the model number and google it or see if it's on sale on ebay IMO.

I'd pay $200 tops for that, but wouldn't move on it unless it was $100.

i'd reformat it, then donate it to some dude at a day labor stand. I though about buying a car under 500 bucks, like a kia, old ford, or something and just driving to a day labor stand and being like "amigos.....new car para tu wey....heuy, its yours amigo"

It's a computer, what did you expect. A year old computer is about as old as it gets before you need to upgrade.

Wow I didn't know that. I had my desktop for about 3 years now and it works fine for me. I don't have any use for upgrading every year.

Well if all you do is web/AIM then you can keep your PC for many years but if you want to run the newest games @ max setting and high resolution you're pretty much forced to upgrade yearly. Built my current PC about a year ago and it was essentially top of the line now it's just barely running CoD4 at playable FPS. (40ish)
