Define "young". Define "old".

Based on no scientific methodology, just observations the majority of drivers of the 330i Sport w/manual tranny tend to be younger and male. As you take away those specs (either downgrade power to the 325, downgrade tranny choice to the slushbox or downgrade handling performance to a non-sport model) you get increasingly older drivers. Take away them all (someone in a 325i, non-sport w/slushbox tranny) and they are generally either solidly middle age or a true badge hound.

Of course, every now and then you come across a truly old guy driving the piss out of an M3. So generalizations are just that.

What color E90 you have poll needed

I think this poll should have been more specific (ex- 18-29, 30-39, 40-50).
But I was just wondering is there a poll to find out what color E90 members own or ordered?

Market statistics will bear out the "older" driver dominates the 3-series through 7-series lines of BMW sales (mean ages are approximately 43 years old for the 3-series up to 51 years old for the 7 series). I think this and any other forum-based poll will mostly just reflect that most of those who frequent forums are of the "younger" crowd.

If the question had been, "Are more E 90 buyers older, i suspect the poll results would be reversed from where they presently stand. The quality of am majority of posts on thsis board led me to this conclusion.

40+ is getting old. People are living too long now though...so, it is subjective.

Asia European car prices double USA, so E90 is a luxury car, in a way, the owner age group will be older. Check car triple priced Singapore and see how many 23 yr old can afford a BMW.

However, I disagree that people searching these forums are younger owners. Go to the Benz SL, CL, AMG forums and find out how 'young' they are.

Anyhow, this thread is not completely sht, at least we make some points that some not aware of.

Have a nice day.

I agree with you. Most drivers in the 500+hp range sports cars such as Ferrari, Aston Martinm SL AMG don't look too young to me.
Whether someone would take a Honda or a BMW/Porsche depends on how much money he/she has, not age.

I'll be 55 next week and never had any children so I didn't have to mature too much.

I think you should have broke it down to type of E90.

I'm sure most of the 325i's are bought by younger people with less money and I'm sure that most of the xi's are bought by older people.

So if you would have asked about the xi's it would have been mostly older people.

Also, let has been mentioned alot of people over 40 don't come to the forums.

I bought a 330xi because the alternative would have been a 525xi which is larger, slower and not as much fun as a 330xi.

Since I don't have any kids and I also have a Honda Accord; the back seat wasn't important to me.

So I guess it depends on your individual situation.

I am a great uncle (my niece's girl).

I would consider it an honor to be the unofficial godfather of all your UNBORN children.

Sure...
I didn't think 16 year-olds could drive anymore in the US. The driving age is 17-18 in most states. Based on statistics and other research they need to raise the driving age or make the test harder.

The cars are yours? Why do I find that hard to believe? You had your E46 at 15?

There's been an age thread going on for awhile. I'm not sure how to vote in this poll.

I'm 40, so I guess I'm old.

I'm old because you're only as old as you feel, and most days I feel like I'm about 70.
Now, I'm going to go eat a bowl of RICE. :finger:

I voted young as I thought 34 was still young, but now seeing all the "younger" (i.e. 16yo), I am feeling way older...

Now that I've got the 5er I certainly am in the old category.
Bring out the 335 and I'll be running back to the e90.

Younger to like, middle-ish.

A lot of teenagers have the e90 and then ill see like people in their 20s and 30s driving it too. i think most people older than that drive a 5 or 7 and then have a mid life crisis car. eg: 350z roadster. aka, my uncle.
