That about sums it up. Every time we *anywhere* in Texas where we're going to be outside, sunblock is the first thing in the bag. Like I mentioned, we'd previously scoped the track due to going a few times, so having been there before made all the difference in our preparations.

Boy were we wrong! they drop you off at the bottom of the hill, so you have to hike all the way up the hill to the track. Once there, we were told there would be trolleys, but they were nowhere to be found so we had to hike all the way across the track to turn 11. In the end we couldn't see much of the race, were sunburned and covered in sweat, probably walked over 3 miles, and were not happy.
Yeah, we kinda felt like that last year, we did a LOT of walking from the park and ride drop off to Turn 4/5. Sucked a *lot*, 'specially waiting in the park and ride line to go home. It was ridiculous!

ALMS will be @ COTA in September, and there were NO crowds.

I was at turn 12 in 2012 and Turn 15 in 2013 and both were great aside from the stands rocking in 12, which I think is solved?. You can get to your seat quickly and when you go to leave you are right next to the exit. On top of the fact that there is some good racing to be seen there.

Anyone ever been to Ruby's BBQ? It's close to UT campus. Ate there a few times and it's like stepping back in time. Decent BBQ.
Their creamed corn.....F.T.W.

And speaking of Franklins, this spot has been running for a few months now...

Exactly what we did. Going back to T15 this year. In fact we'll be driving down there in a few weeks to go to the MotoGP race.

If you get a high enough row in turn twelve you can also see turn one. I've sat at 11, 12 and 15 and I think we'll try for 12 again this year. We also parked in K lot near the track and that made a world of difference from the park and ride.

Just get there at the crack of dawn...to wait in line for hours. Saturdays can over 300 people waiting in line.

Or a little insider trick. Place a to-go order, you can pick it up before they open. (one minor detail, order must be 5lbs or larger)
