I got that info from ISTA D.
Re Environment Variable. Yes it is required but the installer in the pack should add it automatically to the system variable. You can check to see. |

Ok I'll have to check. Just trying to think of why the INPA from the above link worked while the one from the coding pack did not.

I had all this stuff working on my car a couple years ago when I coded it.
Recently had to have ECU replaced and lost all my coding. Struggled getting things to communicate again so I tried just starting over from scratch. Followed instructions and installed bmw standard tools. Copied UPDATE folder into C drive. When I try to run anything in INPA though I get errors with it looking for some files that don't exist int he sgdat directory. Ideas? |

I re-installed the BMW Coding Pack and indeed it created the path variables in the Environment Variables window.
But one thing it did not do is copy "obd.ini" from C:\EDIABAS\BIN to C:\WINDOWS. Is this step necessary? |

It is necessary only in Windows XP, but not in Windows 7 or 8.
