So... there was this other video tutorial I saw on the side bar... had to do with enlargements of sorts. Figured I'd give it a shot on one of Sylon's previous contest pics. Let's just say... it's an interesting result.

found this on L4P, played around with it a bit for the guy. I think it looks much better but what would I know about photography - my PP is horrible right?

he should have in the 1st place, I couldn't bring out much detail in the black grille because of how underexposed it was.

F18 and it still washed out. It was looking into a very bright haze and the sun. I really needed an ND filter. Photoshop to the rescue, though.

i like how you made your watermark very subtle into the red bimmer and the edit looks good. What did you use to remove the rod?

damn Paul... you're on fire. That photo is SICK!

What all did you do with it? The original seems overexposed, and produces a vastly different mood than when looking at the final version.

Thanks!

I shoot in raw and jpg - the before image is the one sooc(jpg).

I took the raw and put through photomatix - Played with the settings till I got something I liked (making sure not to get the dreaded hdr halos etc)

Then into PS for removal of the warning board on the steps and a distracting building on the far right of the photo. Clone brush was used there.

A little dodging to bring back some light to the structure and that's all.

Thanks for the explanation. Did you actually use exposure bracketing when you took the photo and import those images into Photomatix? Or did you pretty much just take that single raw image and create the appropriate multiple exposure images for Photomatix? Or did you do something else?

Single raw - I rarely use bracketed now.

Ditto. I've had it for months and have rarely messed around with it. Time to start. Very nice work, Paul.
