I hate to say it but this does hold some merit. Well not swimming, but traveling by boat rather than plane would allow for the majority of gestation period to take place. Infection screening takes place just before pulling into port. No infections, everyone goes on their way. With an infection, the boat is locked down for an additional 20 days while treatments are administered. Additional screening after 20 days and people can go on their way providing there are no other infections.

Of course more than one case is needed for this type of drastic measure.

....or does it?

This^^^. Inconceivable that any commercial aircraft are flying into, or out of, any of the affected areas.

That would be a good idea - at least the CDC thought so some years back. The Obama Administration, however, dropped plans to implement these restrictions in 2010. The Airlines and Civil Liberties groups (e.g. ACLU) praised their withdrawal:

I can't get on a plane with a deodorant stick, yet people can fly here unchecked from West Africa.

From the World Health Organization:

"People remain infectious as long as their blood and body fluids, including semen and breast milk, contain the virus. Men who have recovered from the disease can still transmit the virus through their semen for up to 7 weeks after recovery from illness."

Let's hope it doesn't become an STD...

With how incompetent the Secret Service is, it doesn't surprise me in the least that the rest of this government is equally as, if not more, incompetent.

Group buy on Clorox, anyone?

I do not understand some people's need to travel to places where either the government, people, animals, plants or diseases want to kill you. It is like those people who been trying to get into North Korea lately. I understand if you live there already and you have to deal with it. But when someone like this person from Texas should have never been allowed back in the states, they obviously are not worried about the rest of us personal safety.

The PURPOSELY brought people into the states who we KNEW were infected, then let them WALK out of the ambulance and into the hospital!!!! WE were all assuaged by how magical the containment unit on the plane was, so much so that only a single person could come in each plane. Then he freaking strolls into the hospital with less gear than he wore in Africa. That first guy had a suit on, but there wasn't any breathing tank attached, so he was respiring directly into the Atlanta air.

MAYBE the wife will relent on the lever-action 30-06 now. . . but I need more shotgun shells at least.

Is a .22 center-head enough to stop zombies?

I say people should go protest and shut down all flights from the infected countries. Jeez, why is everyone so fking stupid? At this point it's as if the government wants Ebola to spread.

My wife thought ebola was a fucking place in Africa. Sometimes I really want to choke a bitch, then I think to myself if she was that smart, she wouldn't be hanging with a dumbass like me lol. I then proceed to choke a monkey and forget it ever happened.

I prefer to have something(s) that can fire much more quickly, hold more ammo and that cannot be discussed on here

"Those we do not speak of"

But i see your are in California so that severely limits your changes of survival. :P

Hence why me and the kid have to go to the range together. "Hand me the Mossburg while you put SEVEN more rounds in the lever-action (don't know which model I'm going to get yet, might be limited to stock on hand)

That's the hard part about this virus. You could be spreading the virus for 20 days before you even show a symptom.

I thought you weren't contagious until you started showing symptoms yourself? Hopefully he hasn't been exhibiting symptoms for 20 days!!
