Cool Rim Size

First I hope that this is in the right place.
I have a 2008 535i with Sports package, my question is can I put 20x8.5 on my car?
Do the rims have to offset and if so why?

Thanks for any input.

The size of rim should fit with no problem. As far as the offset goes, I'm unsure. I would advise going to 5post.com as I'm sure they may have some relevant information on that.
