Actually I grew up in a mountain city, and while the number of steep hilly streets are greater, the actual gradients were not any worse than what I would find around...

...oh fuck me I'm arguing over something this stupid. You win man.

lol....hehe that was funny.

Scollins is right on in his post.

The funny thing about Seattle is that the winters are not very harsh. although we had a lot of snow and the temps were in the teens....it was only for a couple of days. For example, i had 3 inches of snow on the ground yesterday morning.....This morning 97% of the snow was gone and the temps were in the 40's. Rained last night and it all went away.

When it does snow, the people here suck in it and the city of Seattle doesn't have the snow equipment to deal with it.

Overall, People in Washington suck at driving in any weather conditions!

The mid-west have worst winters. They can stay frozen for weeks. lol

I'm originally from atlanta....we drive fast in all weather conditions!

lol at the Minnesota comments....

I have a 2000 323ci lowered with some really really nice snow tires... Even that thing slides on glare ice like that, but not nearly as bad as others.

You have no idea how good this car does in the snow... its almost ridiculous

A couple years ago, I had between 2-3 inches of ice cocooning my entire car. That was a real bitch to get off.

Not all US winters are nice. You guys do have it worse in general in frogland, but "nice and warm" is hardly accurate, even when compared to Quebec.

Slick ice and hills are not a good combination, and it'll take more than snow tires to save you. Entertaining video, anyway, and I had to chuckle when the bus did a 180 and was flashing the "downtown" sign. Damn right you're going downtown, all the way down the hill whether you like it or not.

4 hour 30 mile commute home FAIL

Seattle drivers for the most part DO suck. "Omigosh its raining, what do I do..."

Like somebody else already mentioned, unless you had spikes or awesome chains it was like an ice rink.

It snowed for hours in the morning and was just a wet, slick mess... then it started freezing and snowing again.

Funniest thing I saw was somebody in an E90 328 lowered with deep 20's... I guarantee those weren't snow tires.

In contrast, Thanksgiving morning we had snow flurries starting really early AM that stuck to the ground. Maybe 3" deep when I went out at 8. It was AWESOME to drive in. Still a little slippery but much more predictable.
Did some STI snow drifting....
