Best and Cheapest way to get my car out town!

Hi,

Do anyone know the cheapest way to get my 135i from Vancouver BC to LA? instead of driving it... I m thinking to rent a pick up truck and a hitch to tow it all the way from Vancouver to LA... Anyone have any good idea to do it?

Thank you!

Ella

Towing it behind a U-haul is alright. I made amove a couple years ago in college when I had a beater Civic and the truck (maybe 14-18 ft) and trailer was ~$500 for a cross state move.

Tow it. There are threads about how to best protect it. If you're really nuts about it I would cover it with furniture blankets and then wrap it tight with plastic. Leaving it unprotected can't be worse than driving it anyway. Another possibility would be to leave it behind, drive the truck to LA, fly back and then drive the 1 down taking some scenic routes along the way.

Why not just drive it? When it is being worked on in LA you can rent a car.

I think you will spend less in gas than it will cost to ship. If you rent a truck you'll pay truck rental, trailer rental and fuel costs. It's only a 2 day drive!

we drove from sf to vancouver and it was 14 hours or so? It's not a bad drive and it's kinda fun to take a road trip. Stop by SF.

If you shipped it, MAKE SURE ITS COVERED!! I had my car shipped when I moved cause I didnt want to drive it. When it came off the truck, it had a broken front plate, and many scratches and dings on it.
