I was thing like 400 lol i dont know if thats far off, havnt looked into it yet, but here is my reasoning:

My car is a daily driver amd is an 09 328i e90 w/ 86k on the dash, if i slap a s.c. on my car and daily it, im not sure it will hold, (internals, gaskets, belts ect.) honestly idw pay 5grand to be shit out a reliable car, just for the sake of power.

Now IF and only IF i can do an e90 m3 for about 400 a month, i wont have to worry about maint. Or reliablilty, or blah blah blah. Plus i know i wont want to keep it for over 3 years, (ill end up wanting a new one)

So thats my issue... insight? Suggestions?

M3 will be in the $40s unless you get one with high mileage. You will get around $8-$10k for your car if you trade it in, of course this depends on it's condition and how well you can haggle. Financing will depend on your credit if BMW tries to fuck you on a rate then speak with your bank. You should be able to get a loan at 1.99%-2.99% (or lower). So you will still need to drop a chunk of change into the bucket if you want to be in the $400/month rage.

Damn... lol i didnt want a 335 because of the lack of reliability.

Anyone know what new car leases are looking like? Maybe a 4 series? 435?

435=N55
335 LCI=N55

Still same motor. N55 is less problematic then the N54 though.

there isn't any evidence to support that. the N54 does have more moving parts but i think that engine holds better when tuned in my experince and has way more potential.

I used to own a 328 and was always afraid of getting the 335i until i got tired of the 328s lack of power and no easy HP even gets the same MPG as a 335i. i also hated the pedal lag and GM tranny. when i finally got my 335i it was worth the hassle. in 25k i just had misfire which were just spark plugs and an injector recall. other than that its reliable. more relaible than slapping an aftermarket SC on

Lol well my concern still remains hahaha sc the 328 or daily it and get an e92 m3, and just today ive been toying with the idea of an e46 m3 or even e36... hmmm

Of course if its an e36 i will be stripping it, and building it, but if e46 then pretty much parking it :/ and weekend use, aaaand e92 will be a weekend/road trip car..

And to add to the mix, the sc'ed 328.... decisions decisions...

.... to be honest the only determining factor here is the reliability aspect of the supercharger... if they release it and everyone and their mom blows up their engines, ill pass. But if a decent group of people (obviously not affiliated with ess) can vouch for the product... i may end up dailying a sc'ed 328...

If it was me, I would definitely just go with the M3 & get it over with - still more performance in stock form in power, handling, & braking over a SC 328

Add more power to 328, you still have OEM 328 brakes & handling - add more power - you should also upgrade both these systems to properly deal with power increase - so there you go adding a ton more $$...

If you are set on a E92 M3 go get it and pass on the SC.

Not to mention the extra ware and tare on the motor from the super charger. Let's not kid ourselves no matter how well designed the SC, you will still be pushing your engine well past its specs to expect engine and component life to be cut a bit.

You're right when it comes to tracking. But the car is going to handle the same, and stop the same after sc. If you're going to track, upgrading brakes has a big advantage, but not in dd.

If I were to get an m3, I'd wanna lower it and upgrade swaybars, so suspension doesn't really count anyway. Plus, I'd assume anyone who is considering the sc has already upgraded their suspension. As far as brakes go, it's like $2k to get good brakes. You can find 335 or 135 brakes. Assuming you wait until your breaks wear out, the extra money you're paying is around $1200. Again, that's only if you want/need to stop faster. If you're getting sc just to have a faster car and you're not going to track, a brake upgrade is not necessary imo.

You're right, more power = more stress on the engine components. But that still doesn't help 335/m3 OR sc argument. It's not like 335 and m3 are very reliable. I'm not saying they're incredibly bad built cars, but more power comes at a cost. Any performance/sports car out there (let's say 0-60 5secs or less) is going to be costly to maintain, especially when it comes with extra/luxury features

Why is it so hard to say that on here? I understand they may not check it often but it'll put all rumors aside. Lol The suspense is killing me!
