That's weird. I didn't realize the American version and the British version were competing with each other. Oh wait, they're not. Just in the minds of random automotive snobs.

That was a funny episode with Jeremy Clarkson refusing to participate, presumably on the grounds it was "the single most stupidest idea" he'd ever seen, personally, I think the producers regarded the stunt as sufficiently 'geeky' with Hammond and May to preclude Clarkson's participation.

Has anyone seen the Top Ground Gear Force (yes Top Ground Gear Force) episode?

Really? That's what you're going with?

Sorry you don't like my criticism of your fabricated disdain for something that doesn't even exist yet. You made a useless comparison that stinks of fanboi-ism. Only snobs feel the need to needlessly compare things in order to pick a side and feel like they "won".

I do believe we need to return this to our regularly scheduled programming. Talk about Top Gear, not each other.

I'll ask nicely, if that doesn't work, I'll shut this down.

You knew what he meant. Ok you don't agree(which I don't either) with it and want to criticize it perfectly fine, but don't resort to calling someone a snob. Not necessary on the great forum that we have. If you want to continue in a mature manner PM me I am more then happy to discuss.

What was the name of that guy that said...

"Can't we all just get along?"

I'm shamelessly copying and pasting the link below from an earlier post.
It's an awesome clip. And a Top Gear "greatest hits"-type thread is perfect for this board, so....

"I am an alien!"

Top Gear is good for amusement but Fifth Gear is far better as true car show.

I'm so happy they may be bringing this show to America. BBC even said they'd keep the original hosts as well!

sorry but most Americans would not find them funny... They need to have US hosts to give US humor... You can just look at UK comedy shows, Coupling was a direct conversion and failed.... The Office was Americanised and is a success...

Our tastes in humor are very different... Some of the things that are said on Top Gear are not very PC...

Ya I've been reading around and apparently NBC feels Top Gear is too smart for Americans. Which probably isn't too far from the truth.

I agree with you on the Office. I love the American version! However, there's still something about the original series that the US version can't compete with.

Oh well, they can't take away my Top Gear on BBC America!
