If your income is mostly from a W-2 then there isn't much you can do.

If you are on a 1099 or other then there is a lot more play in the deductions.

He doesn't. I extended last yr and was supposed to have it filed by Oct. 15. Didn't get around to filing it till late Nov. Got my refund pretty quick w/no prob.

Filed yest. at 11pm after TaxAct decided to crap out multiple times. Can't wait too long this yr for the refund.

Actually, I get both. I work for a large defense contractor, and I get an Air Force retirement check. Guess I'll have to have more taxes taken out of the AF check.

Have you talked to a professional tax accountant? It's well worth it as I found out last year.

Thanks to my slow accountant, I filed an extension. He said so far it looks like I overpaid. I wanna know how much. 1K??? 10k??? Anyway I just paid my estimated taxes for the first quarter.

1099 def FTW, but I still always owe more money at the end of the year. Was $2,500 this year. My problem is I can't find enough write offs to even me back out, after a while I'm straight lying and that won't fly if I get audited. Fucking 35% tax bracket
