newb question - Style 68 on a 335ix?
Hey fellers, I recently bought a 335 ix and have been keeping an eye on Craigs list and such for a winter wheel setup. I found a guy wanting to sell his 2 year old e46 M3 Style 68 wheels with snows already mounted.
I came here because I heard it's the only place to go for info. I tried doing some searches and have come up dry. I'm trying to determine if these will fit my 09 e92 awd? I bought my e92 with the sport package and it came with the 188 wheels (although my rft's are both the same size – 225/45 R17, the sticky on this forum shows them different widths front to rear?). Anyway, from what I can find the 68’s look like 17x7.5 et:41 front, 17x8.5 et:50 rear, he has 225/45 R17’s on them, same as my current tires. Fit or no fit? Seems like the front rim width is skinnier, but if the et is wrong maybe it still rubs? I asked about tpms, he isn’t sure what he’s got, says he did get a low pressure warning once, but he may have the abs version? Can anyone confirm the type of tire pressure systems on the e46? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and I look forward to hanging here! EDIT: Upon further research and based on his add wording, it now seems like maybe the Style 68 came in diferrent offsets. It's possible this set is et:47 front, et:25 rear, an offset just for the M. I also saw a post that said the e46 M3 never came with Style 68 17inch rims, but these are, say they came off an M3, and look OEM based on the M stamping next to the center cap? Anyway, same question, would this offset combo work on an 09 e92 ix sport coupe? Last edited by dougrw; 10-16-2009 at 11:16 PM.. Reason: New data found |

If those came off an e36 M3, and has 225/45/17 all around, they are probably 17x7.5 ET47 front and 17x7.5 ET25 rear.
I don't now if they clear your 335i brakes. All 17" e9x wheels does, but I don't know about e46 wheels. If they clear, ET25 is fine in the rear, and 12mm or 15mm spacers in the front is needed.

Agreed, I did a lot checking around and I believe these offsets are correct. Based on the price he wants I don't feel it's worth the hassle of having to deal with spaces and such. The search continues or a tire rack purchase to come. Thanks for the input. |
