Changin Xenon bulb om E90/E91 LCI - Remove tire a must?

I´m changing out my Xenon bulbs on my E91LCI and there is a small access hatch inside the wheelwell, whick I guess is to do just that.

Is it an absolute must to remove the tire?
Has anyone chenged out the bulb without removing the wheel and wheelwell liner?

I just had to do this my car is a little low but there was no way to get in there without removing the tire. It will make your job 10x easier too with the space. I tried to just turn my tire but still wasn't enough room

As with many things, like changing an E30 shifter, you can do it without dropping/moving/removing certain pieces. It's easiest, just takes a little longer, if you remove the parts in the way. I did this while replacing bulbs on my wife's X5. One I wiggled the D1S in and by the time I was done with hand cramps and wiggling it took the same time just puling the headlight out a bit
