Having played every major FF since the NES, I've got to say....not really. Heard it's pretty disappointing. Don't get me wrong I was buying it either way, but I just think Square has lost their touch.

I'm also not all that thrilled with the main character, reminds me of the FFX-2 experience.

Hopefully I end up being wrong and the game blows me away, guess I'll have to wait till Tues.

Get it for PS3 if you have the choice, though the 360 version still got a fantastic port.

Dont really use my ps3 anymore other than blu rays...the only game ive purchased was mgs4...i dont really enjoy ps3 gaming.

ive heard that ff13 was a let down in japan but ive never skipped a ff game.

If you have a PS3 I would highly recommend picking it up for it. I too don't really use my PS3 (mainly multimedia/blue-ray) and pretty much entirely prefer gaming on my 360.

Just keep in mind that FF13 was originally developed for PS3. In game graphics run at 720p and FMV's are 1080p. 360 runs at 576p, and FMV's are 720p. With the PS3 having blue ray capabilities and uncompressed audio/video it is by far the "superior" version from a graphics standpoint.

However, if you're determined on buying for the 360 you can still feel safe. Both versions look fantastic and won't take away from the experience at all. But if you have both, logic would dictate PS3 would tend to be the better choice.

Either way you'll still have to pick up GOW3 for the PS3 in a few weeks anyway right?

Looking forward to picking this up Tues. Btw hell no on going to the midnight release, did that once and the experience was........well definitely "unique"

I enjoyed Final Fantasy IV, VI, and Tactics. VII, VIII, and IX were OK. X was alright too. Didn't play X-2, or XI, or XII. I'm not planning on XIII.

I did not like Tactics on GBA at all. I do not like the re-vamp of Tactics on the PSP.

I and III were good, but I didn't like II.

V was alright, but it's really not the same as IV and VI. IV and VI deal with many characters, while V really centers around only 4. I don't mind the job system at all. It's kind of cool to build a party the way you want it to be.

I heard XII was really good and had a spectacular new combat system. Can anyone recommend XII as good enough to buy and invest time into? However, I heard the characters are also rather "genderless" in appearance.

XII was not that good imo. Story is not that good and I didn't like the new gambit battle system. You basically run around and the characters fight by themselves. I say you should try out FFXIII.

I thought XII was pretty good. Definitely not the best Final Fantasy, but worth a play. I personally liked the Gambit system in FFXII, but it can be annoying at first and takes awhile to get used to. Like anything once you get it down it's actually pretty fun.

My big beef with the system is spells. If I'm casting a spell and a mob is too, he casts his, then it takes forever for me to cast mine while he can sit there and just constantly keep hitting me over and over while my spell is loading, stupid. It makes spells like flare and holy useless unless you wanna get whacked around a few hundred times while you try to get off a spell that doesn't do much damage to begin with.

Didn't really care for the characters all that well either. Though Balthier and Basch were awesome.

I used to fail classes because i played FFVII too much...and i used to get bad grades cuz i played FFIII (Super Nes)...those were truly the best FF series in terms of story, game play, and leveling up system...FFVIII, was by far the worst one...gay love story, stupid way to gain level, no random encounter..FF9 was just as retarded...little monkey kid...10 got me bored in a couple hours...didn't bother with X2, X11, X12...


i might give this one a try...could be a great way to kill time rather than blow my money at the Casino..

FF7 was the best IMO, the other ones were..meh =/. I'm really waiting on versus to come out though. If the local game shops have 13 in stock, I'll give it a spin I guess. $60 per game x.x. I remember the good ol' days when games were anywhere from $30-$50 dollars xD

My roomy bought it and was playing it yesterday. Said he's not a bgi fan of the battles and how you only control your one guy, but it seems you can still change "fighting styles" of your partners.
