29CC, 29CF and 2A83 codes, misfire and VANOS intake E90 320i
Hi Guys,
so after resolving the valvetronic internal fault issue, this 3 fault codes came up. 29CC DME: Misire, several cylinders 29CF DME: Misfire, cylinder 3 2A83 DME: VANOS intake VANOS code: 1. Activate VANOS intake and OFF is 10V and ON state is 12V. 2. Removed VANOS solenoid just to check if it is dirty, it was't but I cleaned it with mass sensor cleaner anyway. This was a new VANOS solenoid valve replaced a couple of weeks ago. It is still coming up with misfire code. Misfire fault code: 1. The spark plug is new and the coil as well. 2. replace the coil with the previous old one which was known working. no good. 3. replace the spark plug with old one known good, still no good. Now I am stuck, should I start looking at fuel injectors? Last edited by Dingsky; 10-06-2023 at 05:44 PM.. |

Hi, another update removed the injector valves and cleaned with carb cleaner and activating the injectors with power supply, all seem to be working and I think good atomization from the nozzles.
I still get misfire! I read a post somewhere that someone removed the intake VANOS solenoid valve connector and it ran ok, so I tried this and no more misfire just VANOS activation fault code as it DME see that the intake VANOS solenoid was disconnected. no resolution in that forum topic. Why would it be better running without the VANOS solenoid valve? any thoughts? This VANOS solenoid is a new one. I attached the VANOS adaptation values, does this seem right? Any advise from anyone regarding this issue is highly appreciated. Last edited by Dingsky; 10-06-2023 at 04:34 AM.. |

I have cleaned and tested the old and new solenoid valve for intake both were good and getting actuated when I apply 12v to the solenoid valves. Placed the old one back just to test, and it ran no misfire no issue at all, drove it out for about 5 mins and came back. stopped 1 min and restart again, still no issues, so I thought the new solenoid valve was the issue and getting ready to send the new solenoid valve where i purchased it from. so basically it stopped for about 20 minutes or so but when I tried to start the car again, it started hesitating and blinking engine light comes back on again.
Now I am really clueless what to do next. is there someone out there that can help me out, thanks. |

I'm having the same issue with cylinder 3 misfiring. I've just replaced the Valvetronic motor and started the car and I got a P0303 (29CF) DME: cylinder 3 misfire and but the other codes for the Valvetronic motor, P1050 (2A67) & P1062 (2A6B) have gone..
How do I fix this?? Please help!! |
