Cool any getaway ideas within 4 hours driving range from NYC

As mentioned in the title, looking for a nice and quite getaway for 2 nights...

During fall season, there is not much to do but if you can also advise some attractions in the area, i would appreciate.

Thanks
Koxal

Newport, RI is nice, several nice restaurants and sight seeing. Went skydiving there also.

Shouldn't be too crowded this time of year either.

I've been to the Red Parrot and Brick Alley Pub a few times. White Horse Tavern is right nearby, one of the oldest taverns in USA.

Mansion row is pretty cool many of them can be toured. There is also a boardwalk (cliff walk... new england lingo lol) behind most of the waterfront mansions where you can take pictures if you don't want to do any tours. Ocean Ave continues away from the mansions and there are many cool places to stop and take pictures.

I've never stayed in Newport. I lived in East Providence when I was going to college and I've driven to Newport several times as well as taken the ferry from Providence to Newport.
I'm sure if you try yelp or any of the other similar apps you can find a nice bed and breakfast or hotel to stay at. The Newport Marriott is decent and right in the middle of everything.

Have fun on your trip.

Hey no problem! The 2 restaurants I mentioned are really affordable, there are many upscale options in the area if you're looking for that. I was a broke college student last time I was there! Lol

Boston is within 4 hours and the north end puts NYC's version of Little Italy to shame. Great town.
