Congrats. I'm thinking of getting an unlimited Sahara for my daily driver with both roofs. Maybe next spring.

I have a YJ from 1990. Cost me $1,000 so I picked it up for camping and hunting and such.

Nice looking Jeep OP. That blue looks great.

I've had Jeep fever for the past few months. We rented an Unlimited on our honeymoon in Hawaii in December and it was awesome. Trying to decide on what year Rubicon to get. Anyone have any good or bad experiences with the 05-06's?

In my opinion the '05-'06 w/ 4.0 I6 was one of the best Jeeps. That motor is nearly indestructible paired with a manual it's pretty fun to drive. I used to work for Jeep and every now and then we would get special orders for Postal Carriers that were right hand drive and manual; those were pretty cool.

I'm also seeing that some of those had the 6 speed manual which I've heard is a great transmission. A RHD version would be awesome. I know you can build the RHD version on the Jeep site.

That's cool I didn't know you could configure it RHD on the Jeep site.

There was a guy at the dealer I worked at that had an early 90's YJ. He swapped in a dodge 360 small block, rhino lined the interior and had marine speakers, and a bikini top. It was pretty sweet never had to worry about rain damaging the interior and it would do an 4WD burn out! Lol

They are great vehicles, I just wish they came with the diesel option like the Grand Cherokee. It would be the perfect engine/transmission imho. One thing: spend the little extra to get the Chrysler 7/70 warranty. Well worth it and you get a loaner for when the car is in the shop.

How do you guys using them as a DD like them? I REALLY have the itch for a Rubicon X but I don't want to regret it coming from my S4. I have a young daughter with a massive rear-facing car seat which I have yet to test fit in the Jeep but I'm thinking the extra space will only become more and more necessary as we expand. So, how livable is it for a daily?

Whats your drive?

It took a very short test drive for me to strike it from the list. I throw down some miles, I like my bluetooth phone etc.

I know they have them, but do they work. With the rag top the noise makes it difficult...

I would get the body colored hard top and probably rarely remove it. I'm not expecting it to be a luxury sedan in terms of fit and finish or even comfort and driveability, I just want to know if those compromises are worth it.
