Looking To Get Employed on the Beach

Hello,

I am a college student that is looking to getting a job on the beach next summer after my semesters are finished with. There's only one problem; I live in Tennessee and want to move to Florida for the summer to get a job on the beach somewhere. I know of a few students around my area that are working in Florida this summer but I am not close enough to ask them so that is why I came to this forum.

- Anyone experienced this? Or know of anyone?
- Suggestions?

if you are too afraid to talk to students you know (you obviously know them considering you know what summer job they have), then how will you manage living on your own in a new state?

I see that you live in deep south Florida, I'm looking to move somewhere near like the Destin/Ft. Walton area because it's already about 8 hours from my hometown.

Called a few places yesterday, there's a popular resort that includes a huge restaurant, marina for the large boats and jet ski rentals (something I prefer), para-sailing, etc. It's a well-known resort in the heart of Destin and for employees they charge $13 a night and you room with 5 other people. I have a friend who works at dawson's creamery in the summer. It's in seaside, Florida. He says that if his parents didn't own a summer home nearby, the cost of living on the beach (even temporarily) wouldn't be worth the improved work environment. Also, it would be depressing to work on the beach, because you would not WANT to be at work; you would want to be on the BEACH.
