Christmas Gift for the family
Hello Fellas,
I need [a lot] of help in getting gifts for the SO for Christmas. I'm either thinking of a purse or a watch. I'm sure a purse is going to be used a lot more than a watch will. I got her a Panerai 3 years back and she wears it every so often if she remembers. On the other hand it seems that I've been feeding her purses for every occasion that I can think of (Christmas, Birthday, Anniversary). Need opinions and thoughts here, Christmas is less than 2 months away; please nothing more than $5,000 (around is fine). So no Birkin, plus last I checked there was a wait list for them. So far for purses it's either going to be a Prada Saffiano, Chanel Flap (caviar vs lamb), YSL medium trois. For watches I'm thinking of an Omega (Constellation) or Tag (Link/Carerra). Help me out here guys, I'm running out of time. Other gift ideas will be considered! |

You could just break up with her, then you won't need to come up with a gift idea.
I've done the purses and jewelry, but to me that's just the easy way out. What kind of shit does she like to do? Are you creative? I could paint a naked portrait of you two. You could paint a naked portrait of you two. Get some modeling clay and mold her how you'd want her to look. Sign both of you up for a couples massage with dual happy endings. Treat her to a nice vacation to somewhere you haven't been before. Have any kids? Poke a hole in a rubber and surprise her with a child. |

Be more creative. Big ticket items are completely unnecessary.

Last year I bought the wife a Coach pocket book/wallet set and put a Movado inside it. Her first words were: Why would you spend this much? I'll never understand women.

Don't do it man. It's a downward spiral once you're buying $5k purses for Christmas. I don't care if you're rolling in millions, it's a bad decision all around. Unless you want to create an entitled, spoiled, unappreciative monster of a future wife. Then go for it.

$5000 for a purse!?!?
My wife would chop my nuts off if I spent that much. This girl sounds like high maintenance. Next!!

To echo what others have said, be more creative. Do something fun and interesting. Something different. Anybody can just buy an object and give it to someone. It's the little things that make big impacts.

I can't get a younger girlfriend because I'm married to her.
I thought of a trip but, it's not going to work out with the twins. I would be thrown out of the plane at high altitude. And it would be the same flying first class. And maybe it's just nice to buy your SO nice gifts. For everyone that said that it's bad to buy designer items it's the same thing as buying luxury cars or w/e nice items everyone here is hiding. I'm sure most of you are making money, drive nice vehicles, own a nice house(s) and have your own guilty pleasure. I'm sure others have commented on your high ticket spending and berated/scolded you for it. Back to the main topic. Anything else ? And for the record no I'm not creative, that's why I'm not an engineer or an innovator of some sort that's rolling in millions of dollars.

Personally I would feed the handbag to the buyer, but the whole m performance catalogue would probably be welcomed. I think.
How old are your kids? I buy each only one present per year and usually its something like a bicycle or something, this year I'm getting a lot of marketing towards a pony/horse. Not going to happen, I think If your kids are young and she's home with them, send her off with the bf for a weekend of fun. It does wonders to us.
