We had a drink and left, stopped at the store for some supplies for the week and upon getting home she finished off baking the rest of her cookies. Around 9pm she finished and despite me asking multiple times what she wanted to eat.....there was no eating....and no sexy time, so I am horny and hangry today, not a good combination (especially at work)

I know its pety but we only get 2 days off from work and I now this weekend will be filled with running around and such. JUST ANNOYED not mad

I'd be pissed too. I can also consider myself petty and childish. High maintenance, even. But hey… she knew what she had when she signed up, right

Apart from the political discussion in threads not meant for it (which I think should have its own forum like we did, so we could share there, and I was a big fan of that section), I agree we can't say anything anymore. I watch out what I say so I don't get banned. I understand they just ban you without any warning or advice, which I find extremely distasteful. Take that as a suggestion if you're a mod and you're reading this. Sometimes people just need to know what they did "wrong" and they won't do it again.

It's like that everywhere now. Post a pic in a bad angle on Facebook, banned. Post a video they don't agree with, "misinformation" and banned.

I got a infraction not long ago for a "political post", which really wasn't political at all.

I was part of a motorcycle forum years ago that went the same way. Everyone knew each other in some way, whether it was from being a member for a long time, racing together, etc. All the regulars stopped coming around because the new crowd couldn't handle the atmosphere and banter, so rules started to change and now if you log in its a boring wasteland of the same unregulated, unresearched questions about what oil to use and how to do a wheelie.

I guess that's my confession today, I'm kind of an old soul nice asshole. I'm probably one of the nicest and most respectful people you'll meet, but when it's necessary I'm also the first to call someone out or say something and not care if it hurts someone's feelings. I miss the days of "If you don't like something, don't pay attention to it and move along."

Then it's another 20 minute drive to her house. Then it occurred to me, they were having Christmas dinner. I wasn't invited. Feelings hurt that I wasn't invited, frustrated because I spent my evening busting my ass to spend time with her in the capacity that she wants, and it didn't happen. I was hurt. Then I remembered, her mother doesn't really like me and I don't care for her, I would have had to rush to go to something I didn't want to go to and it would have taken all night. When the girlfriend called to let me know she was home, rather than tell her that my effort going unnoticed or my lack of an invitation hurt my feelings; I joked about how bad it hurt me that her mother would plan a Christmas dinner and not invite me (this was done sarcastically). She laughed about it, I went over and smashed and went to sleep with a smile on my face. The moral of this story: Sure, I could have complained that my feelings were hurt, but what's the point? She would have got upset, an argument would most likely have ensued, cue unwanted stress and drama. Rather than press my issue, I accepted that it was a good trade off and had porn star sex til the wee hours.

In conclusion, I confess....I am tired.

I feel this to my core. I don't post here nearly as much as I did before. I miss the conversation. I feel like a shift in users and post content is equivalent to other social media platforms. Facebook was once fun before meme's and video's filled the timeline. This place is no exception. Having something great involves hiding it from the masses. The fastest way to ruin something is to tell people about it. Remember that feeling of finding out your parents/grandparents are on facebook......sadly, this is worse as I don't consider some of the offenders "that old." There have been a great many fantastic conversations had here; this has all been replaced with random pictures, unfunny meme's and metaphorical internet circle jerks. I feel like a line is being drawn in the sand here. Some of us enjoy intellectual (or not) conversations and the banter; others just need to feel like someone is paying attention to them and only giving them the attention they want to accept. "Oh I need to post a picture and get my rep count up some more" or "Someone doesn't like my picture or the intent behind my post so now I'll just show my ass"

a) i addressed this above, it may not be about politics for you but most who were banned were banned because they brought politics into non political topics....repeatedly.

I’ve made a few good friends here in the last 2 years. I agree it’s changing and I have zero social media so I just pray it continues to be a place where people come. That’s why I was active in the “banned from g8x forums” thread as I don’t want to see this place disappear. I believe most have headed over to fb unfortunately. What made forums great was the vitriolic and constant dissent, then humor to wash it away. That would still exist if the society we live in allowed it, but they don’t. It’s not BP, it’s society. You have to travel to places like Reddit and 4C if you want reminded of days of yore. Before you say FB is a good alternative, the algorithms instantly ban you for phrases like “you are an ostrich” which I’ve witnessed.

I use social media for entertainment by my friends and vice versa but I tend to frequent forums for car talk and raceous talk that I wouldn't put on FB b/c too many people get butt hurt
